Chapter 19

[Jin POV]

We got out of the car. The rain didn't show any signs of stopping soon so Yoongi and I rushed into the gas station. My eyes wandered over behind the register. Telling from how people would pay for gas, there must have been something to turn on the pumps. Yoongi went to look around to make sure it was safe. I searched and found nothing. What was the secret to turning the pump on?

Yoongi then grabbed a bag from the counter and headed down the aisles. From what he was doing, I assumed he was taking snacks for us to have on the road. As good of an idea it was, it wasn't the safest. Some things he could get might or might not be expired. However they could be worse. The snacks could be poisoned with the spectral virus. Luckily, that wasn't the case.

I then looked under the counter to find a red and small button. It must've been the security alarm or something. That wasn't important, but it was cool to discover. If I didn't find the thing to turn on the gas pump soon, it'd be a risk of getting attacked by spectrals. Feeling a bit of paranoia, I took a peak out of the window. Minji was drawing on the window. I smiled.

"You gonna turn it on or just stare at your girlfriend?" Yoongi pressed a button that I didn't see.

I scratched the back of my head, "I was making sure she was safeㅡuh, we should check if they need to use the bathroom."

Yoongi nodded, "Ah yes, everyone has bladders."

[Minji POV]

Taehyung suddenly let go of my arm. That's when I realized he woke up. He looked at me and then looked around. Somehow he seemed confused or had some sort of jamias vu. Whichever, he didn't seem to know what exactly was going on. I chuckled at the expression on his face. Suddenly a knock came on the window.

Shaken a bit, I quickly looked. It was Jin. He was standing in the rain and soaked by now. I quickly opened the door to let him in, but he grabbed my hand and motioned me out. I got out and so did Taehyung.

"I got you guys so you could use the bathroom," he shrugged.

"Great," Taehyung started running in.

"Good," I said, "This is nature calling. I gotta answer."

That's when I began to pick up my pace and headed for the door. Just before I could grab the handle, Yoongi jumped from behind it. I let out a dramatic gasp because he scared me that bad and I couldn't scream. Jin started to chuckled from behind me. Looking up, I saw Yoongi smirking. Jin grabbed the door and opened it for me.

I headed towards the bathroom. Only knowing where it was because I had been here once or twice before. The bathroom was cleaner than I thought. No blood, no rust, and definitely no spectralsㅡthat I could see or hear of. The bathroom was a little too suspicious for my liking so I decided to check stalls. The first and second was clear. Suspense rised in me as I headed for the third stall.

It was the last stall. It was deciding my fate at this point. Even if there wasn't anything there. Taking a deep breath, I checked the last stall. Opening the door made me regret my decision. There stood a spectral facing the wall. I knew that if I tried to run, it would catch up and attack and standing here, it would do the same. I stood frozen, hoping it wouldn't notice me.

It turned around and I felt like crying.

"Dad?" I mumbled.

Tears started to roll down my cheeks as the spectral faced me all the way. Really, I couldn't believe my eyes. Before I could blink, it pounced itself onto me. I let out a shriek, but it may have not been loud enough. The spectral kept snapping it's jaws at me as I held my arm to it's neck. My knife was also slowly digging into my side. Was this my final destination? I thought.

Suddenly the door opened. It was Jin. He looked a little shocked before taking action. Grabbing his knife and keeping it in his grasp, he ran over and stabbed the spectral in the headㅡmy dad. I grabbed my knife out of my side and set it off to the side. Then I hugged my knees to my chest and cried. Jin noticed and sat next to me and hugged me tightly.

It had been a few minutes since we left the gas station. Yoongi decided to drive so that Jin could sit in the back with me. I appreciated it and wished the tears would stop, but I couldn't help it. Seeing my dad as a spectral only to attack me was a breaking point really. Jin squeezed my hand. He seemed worried.

"Everyone put your seat belts on," Yoongi said, "The roads are starting to flood."

I felt a rush of panic. It made me want to cry worse, but I held back.

"What happened to your shirt?" Jin asked.

I sniffed, "Alice was bitten so I-I ripped some of my shirt to put it over her wound."

Taehyung quickly looked back, "What really happened back there?"

I took a deep breath. The flashback had came running back in my mind. As unsettling as it was, I began to tell him.

I took a deep breath and then went after her. Alice quickly turned to look at me and tripped over a lamp in the hall. She fell into the wall and hit her head. My eyes widened as what I saw next. A spectral basically had thrown itself onto her to attack. Alice screamed and tried to fight back. I began to run as quickly as I could, but she made a huge mistake.

Alice forced her arm into it's mouth and let it bite a chunk out of her. My first instinct was to scream, but I didn't. Alice was screaming in pain. Finally getting to the seams, I stabbed the spectral in the head as hard as I could. Just then another was running up the stairs. My adrenaline was kicked in so it wasn't a use of how hard it would attack. I would end it.

I took my knife out of the other spectrals head and put my arm in front of me near it's throat just to stab it in the head. The spectral lost all undead in them and collapsed onto the stairs and slide down them. Checking to see if there would be another, I held my knife ready. Looking over at Alice, her face was blood red and her arm was squirting out blood. Right onto my clothes.

Taking my knife, I ripped some of my shirt and wrapped it around her arm. She bit her tounge and gasped for air. Alice then backed into the hall corner and was groaning in pain. I gave her a sign to stay there. My stomach was aching once again. The smell of rotting bodies and copper filled the air. It was sickening. Soon enough, Yoongi came up the stairs.

Yoongi's gun fell out of his pocket along with two bullets. Alice quickly grabbed them while crying and reloaded the gun. She then held out to Yoongi to take it, but before Yoongi could grab it, she pointed it to her head. Yoongi and I both reached for the gun, but it was too late. She pulled the trigger and ended her life there.

"Why would she do something like that?" Taehyung asked in tears.

"The pain could have been too much," Yoongi interrupted.

"But she was pregnant!" Taehyung said, "She only thought of herself."

"Taehyung," I frowned, "the baby would have become undead quicker than her and start eating through her stomach or something."

"I see," he said.

"Where's my jacket?" I looked around.

"Oh right," Taehyung handed me it.

Wrapping the jacket around me, I buckled in. We hit a bump in the road that caused us all to jump out of our seats. Yoongi just chuckled. Jin was starting to fall asleep against the door. His head would slowly fall downㅡonly to him rising it up to stay awake again. I leaned against the door and fell asleep.
