~TJ's POV~
"TJ! Come help me with my boxes quick!" I heard Amber yell from the upstairs of our now old house.
"Be up in a minute Ambs!" I called back.
In just a week I would be back in Shadyside. I would be back in the neighborhood that raised me for a good portion of my life. I could finally see that park I used to go to again.
I would be able to see Cyrus again.
I hustled up the stairs to Amber's room to help her with round thirty of her boxes. It's honestly amazing how much this girl has.
"Alright what do you want me to grab?" I asked as I admired the sheer emptiness of her room. The move was real and I could feel that Amber knew it too.
She was sat on the floor with her hand on a tiny painting that was on the wall. It was a little tropical paradise. The stereotypical small island with the one coconut tree.
"I have no idea how that seems like paradise to people." I broke the silence.
"And what is paradise to you my ugly brother?" She smiled at her insult. I decided to ignore it.
"Sleeping in on a weekday." I chuckled.
"That sounds like something Cyrus would've said." The smile feel from my face, but it was quickly replaced with a small smirk. She was right.
"Do you think he'll want to talk?" I ran my hand through my hair as I sat down on the floor with her.
"It depends Teej. He could be completely over it or completely scarred." I sighed at her statement. Again, she was probably right.
"I miss him."
"I know you do, but it will work out. You two were so close. Do you know what he's up to now?" She took out her phone and started typing something.
"Well I had looked at his Instagram, but all I can get is his bio and profile picture because his account is private. I have been on 'requested' for two years Amber."
"He'll come around TJ. You two are meant to be in each other's lives. I know it." She smiled and patted my hand.
"I hope you're right." I smiled back.
"I'm always right." She stated as she got up and started walking toward the last of her boxes.
"Except for when you're not." I shot back trying to delay her ego.
"Name one time where I've been wrong." She turned around and placed a hand on her hip. The sass.
"Touché." I pointed at her and nodded.
"TJ and Amber! Get those boxes down here we need to leave soon!" Our mom called from downstairs.
"Yes ma'am!" Amber replied and and started grabbing boxes.
I walked up to the last few boxes and Amber turned around in the doorway, her arms full with the boxes.
"Be careful with those few. The small one is for you. Don't open it until we're at the new house." She smiled and headed downstairs.
I smiled and grabbed the boxes. I placed them in the hallway and walked back into Amber's room to turn off the light. Then I walked into my room one more time.
I looked around the room. I smiled. It was bittersweet. I did love this house, but I loved Shadyside more.
I did one last check through the room and almost got through the final check until I saw something in the far corner of what was my closet. It was a red baseball cap.
