~TJ's POV~
Today was the day, and I was ecstatic. Cyrus was coming home today. We had all planned for his mom to pick him up from the hospital while the rest of us decorated his room with a bunch of "Welcome back!" signs.
Buffy and Amber were baking Cyrus' favorite type of cake, chocolate chocolate chip batter with chocolate icing, downstairs. His love for chocolate might outweigh my love for him. Might.
Andi and Walker were making the signs to put up in the living room and Cyrus's room. Considering how artistic they both were, Cyrus might be able to sell those works of art for a lot of money in a few years. Hopefully they don't get paint on the carpet in Cyrus's room.
Marty and Jonah were at the store getting Cyrus's favorite snacks and a stuffed dinosaur. The last bit may have been my suggestion.
Kaitlin and Reed were organizing the gifts (yes we got him gifts) in the dining room. They still aren't dating yet which is shocking. They're just as oblivious as Jonah sometimes.
Finally, I was making sure everyone was doing their jobs. I wanted Cyrus's return home to be as perfect and amazing as possible. He deserved every bit of happiness and celebration. I even set up a Mario Party game so I could watch him destroy everyone here.
"He almost here?" Marty asked as him and Jonah returned. I shook my head and grabbed the bag with the dinosaur in it.
"His mom said that she hasn't even signed him out yet. They're making sure everything else with him is fine before they officially let him go." I responded.
"How's everything looking here?" Jonah asked as he started to take out the snacks for Cyrus. Cotton Candy, M&Ms, and a muffin to be specific.
"Cake's almost done, Walker and Andi have one more sign, and Reed and Kaitlin are almost done arranging the gifts. Put the snacks in Cyrus's room please." I said the last part to Jonah with a wink, considering Walker was up there. He blushed shyly and made his way up the stairs.
"Cyrus might go into a coma with how much we did for him." Marty joked as he admired all of our dedication.
"I just really want him to feel happy. Cyrus hates the hospital and loves school. He had to spend an eternity in the place he hates and he couldn't go to the place that he actually loves." I really wanted Cyrus to have a good first day back home.
"He is very lucky to have a dude like you." Marty said with a friendly smile as he went into the kitchen to look for his girlfriend.
After another round of checking on everyone I felt my phone start to vibrate. It was a message from Cyrus's mom.
Cy's Mom💕: Just signed him out. We are on our way home now. Do I need to stall for time?
Me: No! everything is ready. bring him home :)
"CYRUS IS ON HIS WAY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE." I yelled throughout the Goodman household. Excessive scrambling followed my announcement. Andi, Walker, and Jonah came down with a few of the signs, Buffy, Amber, and Marty came out with the cake, Kaitlin and Reed emerged from the dining room, and I ushered everyone into place.
As we awaited Cyrus's arrival, I recalled this morning how Marty and I had thought of this. We both cared a lot about Cyrus, so we just started planning and his mom was immediately on board. Everyone else was too because Cyrus's love for his friends is so strong that it just touches anyone's heart.
Soon we heard their car pull up and two doors close.
"Okay people. The moment we've worked for." Marty said in a dramatic tone which earned an eye roll from Buffy.
