~Reed's POV~

I felt my body being moved as I gained back a small bit of consciousness. When my vision adjusted, I could see that I was being wheeled into an ambulance. I tried to look around for Cyrus, but I couldn't find him.

Please be okay.

The ambulance lights forced me to shut my eyes again. I felt myself start to fade, but I attempted to fight it off because I needed to know where Cyrus was. I managed to drum up a bit of power to speak.

"W-where's my friend?" I spoke with a sharp rasp.

The look on the EMT's face was one I would never forget. His reaction skyrocketed my anxiety.

Please God. Please be alive.

I began to fade. The pain and exhaustion beat my last bit of strength and then it all went black.

~TJ's POV~

"I can't believe they won't let us see them!" Mrs. Goodman said, exasperated.

"I want to see my son just as much as you want to see yours, but they're probably making sure they stay alive." Mr. Winchester said to Cyrus's mom in an attempt to console her.

The waiting room was filled by Cyrus's mom, Reed's dad, me, Marty's parents, Marty, Buffy, Andi, Amber, and Kaitlin. Everyone was worried, but Mrs. Goodman and I were wrecks. I was crying because my best friend and my boyfriend were quite possibly dying, and I wasn't even able to see them.

I shouldn't have let Reed drive Cyrus home. Then they'd both be safe, but no I just let them go. Classic TJ! This is all my fault, really. I could've prevented this.

I cursed to myself quietly, but Cyrus's mom must have overheard me because she scooted closer to me. She placed one of her hands on my back and rubbed it in circles.

"Hey, hun, none of this is your fault. I can see the guilt and the internalized attacking on your face. From what we've been told, it was a drunk driver. There's no way you could've prevented that." She sniffled a bit and wrapped her arms around me. "They're going to be okay."

"I hope s-so." I croaked.

After a few more minutes, a doctor came into the room. We all looked to him, waiting for any news that he was bringing.

"Parents of the children may see them. Afterward, then the rest of you all may come and see them." He spoke gently.

"Are they okay?" Marty's dad asked.

"Well, Reed is awake and speaking. His ribs are bruised and he has a few cuts on his face, but he'll fully recover." The doctor paused.

"What about my boy?!" Mrs. Goodman looked worried as all hell.

"He's not awake at the moment Ms. Goodman. His breathing is normal, but he took a pretty bad hit to the head. He also has bruised ribs, and two of his fingers are broken. We expect him to fully recover, but we cannot be sure of his mental state until he wakes up." The doctor scribbled something onto the papers attached to his clipboard.

"Oh god." Mrs. Goodman said to no one in particular. She began to sob more, but the doctor took her and Reed's dad to go see their children.

I suck back down into my seat and felt tears come back down my face. They're both so hurt. Cyrus isn't even awake. What if he never wakes up?

I shook away my thoughts as Marty's dad began to speak.

"I think kids should all get going. I understand it's your friends, but it's late and they're both going to be okay." He spoke softly to everyone besides his wife, Marty, and I. They all nodded and began to leave, Amber pulled out her keys since she was driving.
