~Cyrus's POV~
I woke with faint sunlight in my eyes. It's as if the shades were especially positioned for the sun to come through and wake me up. Anything besides my phone alarm waking me up was find. The awful iPhone ringer noise was so frantic to me nowadays. I sighed and rolled over to see Jonah still asleep.
I mean he got to sleep in his bed, so he's probably a lot more comfortable. I got up off the floor and grabbed my phone off of Jonah's charger because I forgot mine. It was only nine o'clock, but I would be damned if I let him sleep longer than me.
"Jonah." I said as I shook him. He grunted and turned over to face away from me. "Wake up."
"No." Was what I assumed he had said into his pillow.
"It's literally Saturday morning, it's not like you have to do anything after you get up." I argued. He looked back at me and scrunched up his face.
"Exactly. That means I can sleep in." He said and placed his head back onto his pillow. I rolled my eyes and then realized that I actually did have something to be doing.
"Hey Jonah, I've gotta go actually." I cursed myself for forgetting about the newspaper deadline that was Monday. I was the one who set it too! I had to proofread everyone's articles and put the paper together.
"Why's that Cy-Guy?" He said, picking his head up.
"Newspaper deadline!" I said as I grabbed my things and rush out the door.
"Thank you for letting me stay over!" I called to his parents in the kitchen as I shut the door behind myself.
I was about half-way back to my house when my phone started to ring. I looked at my phone to see that TJ was calling me. I smiled and answered.
"Hey! Make it quick I've got lots of work to get to!" I tried to say with less urgency, but it was pretty urgent.
"Woah Underdog okay," He chuckled. "I was wondering if you wanted to come to a gathering Amber and I are having tonight?"
"I have this big newspaper deadline on Monday and I haven't even started yet! So, I don't think I can make it Teej." I frowned a bit because I hated turning him down.
"What if I come over tomorrow to help you?" I smiled as he made the proposal. My heart started to beat a little fast as I slowed my pace on the way home.
"Uh... that'd be fine. What time tonight?" I asked.
"We are starting at around six tonight. Sound good?" His voice was so tender and happy. He must be excited for the party.
"Sure. Any specific attire?" I instantly started mentally flickering through outfits in my head.
"Just wearing something cute. You're good at that." He said the last part quietly, but I heard him.
"Oh. Uh, okay." I smiled to myself even though I was kind of caught off guard.
"See ya Underdog!" He quickly said.
"See y-" he hung up before I finished.
I took a big breath out and relaxed myself. I didn't need to stress myself out. The help from TJ would be greatly appreciated. Thankfully I was able to hang out with Jonah yesterday into today because it was a nice way to catch up from the emotional week. Things were slowly starting to fall into place and I was content with it.
I pulled out my phone and FaceTimed Buffy as I continued to walk home.
"Hi Cyrus." She said picking up. She looked like she was in her kitchen.
