My alarm clock rang through the empty house, I groaned and threw myself to the other side of the bed in hopes to ignore it and get more sleep. But the more I ignore it, the louder the damned thing gets.

I flopped over and slammed my hand on the alarm button and the room fell quiet. I sighed loudly. It was the first day of my Senior Year. I was dreading it, the only reason I was excited was to see Cal, Ash, Mikey, and my best friend Luke.

Luke and I have grown up together since we were 5 years old. We've grown up standing up for each other and comforting each other when one goes through heartbreak. He's the best person I know.

I slowly walk downstairs, my feet echoing through the vacant house. My parents had to leave for an emergency at work and they took the first flight to California. So I will be alone for a bit.

I grabbed my backpack and stepped outside. The cool breeze rushed across my face and I took a deep inhale to smell the fresh scent of fall.

I walked down the sidewalk to Luke's house. He lives 5 houses down from me, so we spent most of our time together this summer. I climbed up the porch steps and took a deep breath and knocked on the front door.

The door opened and revealed a very tired Luke Hemmings. He stretched his arms and talked to me through a loud yawn. "Hey Sky, you ready to go?" I nodded and smiled "Yep." He looked down at me and smiled. I turned to go down the stairs but Luke caught my wrist.

"You look really pretty today."

I turned and smiled at him "Thank you Lukey, you don't look so bad yourself" he lightly smiled and looked down. Was he blushing? No, he couldn't be. We do this all the time, why would this one be different?

He scratched the back of his head and looked up. "Let's go" we walked down the steps and began walking to school.

It was lunchtime and I shyly walked into the cafeteria, it was weird walking in without my Lukey. I scanned through the people for Luke, almost finding him instantly. As if on cue, he looks over to me and smiles, patting the seat next to him.

I smile back and walk over to the table. "Hey Lukey." He scrunched his nose at my nickname for him. He's hated it since Junior High and nothing has changed about it. But I tease him anyway.

Ashton soon walks over and sits next to Luke, looking at me and smiling "Hey Skylar" I smile back. "Hey Ash"

As we quietly eat our lunches, Luke slides his hand under the table and rests his hand on my thigh. I relaxed under his touch. He was my best friend; he knew exactly how to relax me.

Soon, the lunch room is filled and I spot Calum Hood looking at our table. His eyebrows are furrowed and he is staring at Luke. I turn to Luke and see he is staring at Calum with the same Pissed off expression.

As I turn to look back at Cal, I see him jump out of his chair, his chair shooting backwards and crashing into another chair. He turns on his heel and stomps into the hallways.

Luke made a move to get up, his eyes never leaving where Calum had just vanished. Before he could move more, I grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him close. The sudden movement startled him and his head almost hit mine, our faces were centimeters from each other's.

"Luke, what's wrong?" I asked. His behavior towards Cal made me nervous. He's never looked at anyone like that before. He turned his head so his blue eyes met mine. His eyes immediately softened and he sighed.

"I- I don't know Sky, it's just-" He took a deep breath again and looked down. He ran his fingers through his hair and bit his lip. "I'm just going to go home Sky, see you later."

He stood up and walked outside, I quickly got up to follow. I looked over at Ashton with a small smile. "Sorry Ash, I need to go talk to him."

He smiled at me reassuringly. "It's okay Skylar, he needs you."

His words confused me, but I chose to ignore it. I rushed outside to find Luke. And to my surprise, Luke was sitting on a bench, his head in his hands. I walked over to him slowly, and he must of heard me walking because he lifted his head and gave me a small smile.

We didn't say anything, just stared at each other. His beautiful blue eyes gazed into mine. He stood up and opened his arms, inviting me into a warm hug, I instantly walked over to him, accepting his hug.

I crashed my body into his, wrapping my arms around his waist has he lightly rested his lips on the top of my head. We stood there for what seems like forever, he finally pulled back to look down at me.

"Sky, will you skip school with me? We can go to your house and watch movies." I smiled up at him and reached for his hand. We intertwined our hands and I pulled him in the direction of my house. "Of course Lukey" he rolled his eyes at my choice of nickname, but smiled goofily at me as we walked down the sidewalk towards my house, hand in hand.

Heeyy so that was my first chapter! *claps hands together* I'm really excited about writing this and I hope it becomes popular.
