Calum Hood.

Calum Hood was right here in front of me, smiling at me. My heart was practically beating out of my chest, I could feel every beat in my throat and it made me want to throw up. I returned the smile and quickly looked down to the floor so I wouldn't embarrass myself.

"Is this seat taken?" Calum pointed to the spot on the bench next to me. Luke is with you, my subconscious reminds me, but I push her away. "N-no." He smiles back down at me and says "good" before sitting down next to me. I try to play cool of how close he sat next to me. Our thighs were touching, his jeans rubbing against my bare thigh almost made me want to scratch my leg, but I restrained myself.

"Uh, hey Sky." I tensed at the nickname. People never call me that. Only Luke does. Calum must have noticed my reaction because he began to stare at me.

"What's wrong?" I didn't want to feel like an idiot whining about the nickname, but I didn't have a backup plan so I was screwed. "Uh, it's, it's Skylar. Not Sky." Calum slightly frowned. "But everyone calls you sky?" Hes not very observant then. "No, only close friends usually call me that."

I looked at Calum and watched a smile grow on his beautiful face. "Well, how can I become your close friend?" He bumped his hip against mine and I smiled up at him. I could feel my cheeks getting red and I wanted to slap myself.

"Um I don't know." His smile never faltered as he kept looking at me.

"Well, I could take you on a date?"

I swear my eyes were going to bulge out of my head. I was shocked. Calum wanted to go on a date with me. The same Calum that I have had a crush on for years. "Oh, um yeah, yeah that'd, that'd work." I looked down and fumbled with my hands. I wanted to slap myself from my stutters. I get nervous, I can't help it.

Calum laid a hand on my thigh, and smiled widely, creating little crinkles by his eyes and his eyes seemed to shine brighter. He chuckled slightly as he leaned in a little bit towards me. "Great. I'll pick you up Friday at 7?" I managed to nod. With his hand in my thigh and his breath on my neck, it was hard to keep myself together.

His smile was still on his face as he leaned a little closer. "Oh, and Skylar?" I closed my eyes and opened them again to keep eye contact. "Hm?" "Yore really cute when you're shy." I was frozen. From how close he was people would probably think he's kissing my neck. His hot breath was hitting my neck and I swear on some syllables his lips barely grazed my neck.

I smiled as I felt heat rush back into my cheeks. I could barely get my voice above a whisper. "Yeah? Tha-" "Sky?" I looked up quickly to see Luke standing in front of me, looking defeated and small.

I grimaced as I washed my hands in the park bathroom. This place was disgusting. I couldn't wait to get back out there to Sky so we could talk. I was going to try and grow some balls and ask her on a date. I was just going to take her bowling or something, because I know how much she loves competition.

I quickly wiped the excess water on my jeans, looking at myself in the cracked and dirty mirror. I took a deep breath and pulled at the ends of my hair, trying to fix the messy quiff but failing miserably. I finally gave up and walked out of the small bathrooms.

As I began walking back to where I last saw Sky, I looked around the park just to be sure that she wasn't playing with kids since she loves kids. Since I didn't see Sky anywhere on the playground, I looked at the bench she was last sitting on, and what I saw made me stop walking and I swear my jaw hit the floor.

Fucking Calum was there, sitting right next to my Sky.

I stood there for what felt like centuries. And I only began to walk there way when Calum leaned in close, too close. I practically ran to them and once I was standing right in front of them, I realized how happy Sky looked, and how happy he looked.

They looked like a couple, he was leaned in close, almost kissing her neck. She was smiling, blushing slightly. It looked like a happy couple. And the sight nearly brought me to my knees.

"Good, because I plan on taking her on a date soon."

Calum's words come back to my mind and I almost want to walk away from this little scene and go home. I can feel the liquid form in my eyes but I force it back. Instead, I decide to hang one to the last bit of hope that I wasn't to late and I still have a chance.

"Sky?" Her name comes out weaker than I had planned and by the look in her eyes she noticed.

Hey guys. I'm so sorry it took this long for an update and sorry it's short. I've been really busy with school, basketball, and music. I had a tournament last weekend and a game last Thursday and this weekend I have a tournament and a band competition and I'm currently sick so I have a lot on my plate but I'm trying hard to keep up with this book for Y'all.
