➸skylar's pov
I woke up once again in the comforting arms of Luke, but this time it felt different. It wasn't our usual friendly cuddle, it felt like Luke was holding me as if I was going to leave him.
Honestly I could never see myself leaving Luke. I care for him way too much.
I place my hands on either side of his head. If Luke was this tense it had to be uncomfortable. I began to smooth out his furrowed eyebrows gently, I rested my forehead against his and slightly kissed his small nose.
"Luke, I'm not going anywhere, I promise." I whispered into Luke's ear even though he couldn't hear me. It almost seemed as if he did hear me though, because almost instantly I felt Luke's muscles relax and his breathing slow.
I smiled and wrapped my arms around his torso, burying my head into his neck carefully. I lightly kissed there, causing Luke to tense and relax once more. I smiled at the reaction I got, repeating the process again on Luke's neck.
Luke groaned and held me tighter. "Dammit Sky stop." Luke muttered before I heard light snores emit from his mouth again. I sighed, beginning to grow bored with just laying here with a sleeping Luke. I ran my fingers through his hair, kissing his forehead softly before slowly untangling myself from him and getting up from the bed.
I tiptoed out of Luke's room and into the hallway, I slowly walked into the kitchen and searched through the cabinets for something to eat. I quickly grew satisfied when I found a package of strawberries and opened the small container to wash the berries before I began to eat them.
As I chewed on the fresh strawberries, I failed to hear Luke stumble into the kitchen, causing Luke to pinch my sides, making me squeal and throwing my strawberry in the air. Of course instead of Luke apologizing and picking up the strawberry, he begins to laugh loudly, high pitched cackles leaving his mouth as he runs out of air.
Luke smiles at me as he gasps for air, still silently laughing. I pick up the dropped berry and glare at Luke. "Luke c'mon.. That was the best strawberry in the package." I frowned at the now dirty strawberry. And apparently Luke found my reaction funny because his laughs grew loud again.
"Sorry Sky, I'll buy you some new ones kay?" Luke walked over to me, taking the strawberry from my hand and throwing it in the trash can behind him. I watched carefully as his hands came to rest on my hips. My breathing seemed to stop as I watched Luke's eyes flicker from my eyes to my lips, and back up to my eyes. I watched Luke's eyes slowly flutter shut, and my stomach flipped inside out as he inched closer.
Suddenly, the image of what happened yesterday ran through my brain, causing me to jump back and create as much distance from Luke as possible. Luke opened his eyes slightly, which resulted in them growing wide at the realization of what had just happened. I watched Luke curse under his breath as he scratched on the back of his neck.
"Uh, let's go to the park yeah?" Luke looked up at me, our eyes making contact. His blue eyes looked about two shades darker than usual and it made something stir inside me. I managed to choke out a "yeah" as Luke grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the house.
"Mum we're going to the park!" I heard Luke yell as he closed the door behind him, catching up to me on the side walk and sighing. "So uh, how'd you sleep?" I rolled my eyes at Luke's attempt to make things less awkward. I decided to take control of the situation.
"Good. Luke, give me a piggyback ride, please?" Luke looked around nervously before giving in and leaning forward. I laughed slightly as I jumped up into his back, his hands instinctively grabbing my thighs and wrapping my legs around his waist. I wrapped my arms loosely around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder, watching him walk.
I smiled and kissed Luke's cheek, and I watched him blush and look down smiling as he continued to walk. I clung to Luke gently as he walked to the park, mumbling small things to himself as he carried me.
I squealed as Luke pretended to drop me, quickly catching me before I could fall more. I pushed my head into Luke's neck while trying to get my heart beat to return to normal. While I was calming down, Luke smiled and turned slightly.
"Don't worry Sky, I've got you."
I could feel heat rising to my cheeks as we reached the park. Luke lazily carried me to the playground, setting me down on the plush wood chips that surrounded the playground. I smiled up at Luke as he excitedly climbed the stairs to the slides. I followed quickly, laughing loudly as I watched Luke struggle to crawl to the slides because he was so tall.
Luke was practically crawling as he ran through the playground, making an odd squeal as he finally reached them. He turned around and smiled at me, giggling slightly. "Sky, c'mon! Let's go down together." Luke's smile grew wider as he sat on the edge of the slide, spreading his legs slightly and pointing to the open space. "C'mon Sky, please?" I sighed and rolled my eyes as I climbed in between Luke's legs.
Luke smiled against my neck as he intertwined our hands. "Ready?" Luke asked quietly. Before I could could say a proper answer, Luke leaned forward and we slid down the slide. We slid down quietly, and once we reached the bottom we remained silent. Just sitting there, holding each others hands. Luke sighed loudly before beginning to talk. "Well damn, I though that was going to be more fun."
I laughed as I leaned back on Luke's chest, I saw him smile in the corner of my eye. I rested my head on his chest as our laughs faded into a comfortable silence. "Well, wanna slide again?"

Luke and I raced around the playground for hours. Whether it be laying in the grass or playing tag with little kids. Now I was laying on a bench, impatiently waiting for Luke to return from the restroom. I rolled my eyes and sighed as I pulled my phone out of my pocket and began to scroll through Twitter and Instagram.
I soon heard shuffling behind me, and I quickly spun around and began talking, getting ready to gripe at Luke for how long he took. "Jeez, it took you long eno-" I immediately stopped once I realized who I was talking to. My breath caught in my throat as his familiar smile imbedded itself in my brain.
He ran his fingers through his dark hair before speaking. "Hey Skylar." I quickly composed myself enough to smile back and reply.
"Hey Cal."
