A Month After Chapter 3: The Midnight Dock Massacre.*

Ash's POV*

Penny has been out on administrative leave for about a month now.

I was somehow voted to represent our school in a arena based setting against Sanctum Academy's best student Pyrrha Nikos.

After a little bit of research I found out she was a Cereal Mascot for a terrible cereal brand.

She was also a world class fighter.

I was asked by Pyrrha to meet in Atlas park to talk and stuff.

Delta made a joke about it being a date and I told him to shut it.

Atlas Park*

I met up with Pyrrha with my full Kevlar, mask, and cane.

We started walking through the park.

I got a few stares from onlookers.

Pyrrha in her good graces asked "If those people are bugging you we can go somewhere else?".

I said "There not bugging me. Besides I get looks like that everywhere I go.".

Pyrrha said "Well maybe it's the mask.".

I nodded and said "It's where it is for a reason.".

She nodded and after a bit we somehow made it to a chess board in the park.

Pyrrha took a seat and said "Care to play?".

I said "Sure.".

I took a seat then asked "But I'm curious about something?".

Pyrrha asked "What?".

I said "Why did you want to meet in such a place like this if not to learn about my skill's before our fight.".

Pyrrha said "Knowing your enemy is only half the battle.".

I said "Well it was a clever move but I'm sorry I saw through it the way that I did.".

Pyrrha waved it off and said "And I'm sorry I tried to trick you.".

People started to gather around to see our game of chess.

Phones out and all for filming.

Delta said "Well you both sure do draw a crowd.".

For some reason no one was taking pictures but they were filming the game.

I moved a pawn to E4 making room for my bishop and queen pieces.

I used my Chess know how to pin point a possible Scholars Mate.

Pyrrha moved a pawn to E5 to block me.

I moved my bishop to C4.

Pyrrha countered by moving her knight piece to C6.

I countered swiftly by moving my queen to F3.

Pyrrha countered by moving a pawn to D6.

I moved my queen forward and took her F7 pawn.

I said "Checkmate.".

Pyrrha said "Good game.".

She reached a hand across the table and I shook it saying "Good game, It's been a while since I've defeated anyone in more then 3 moves."

Later*

We were walking around the pond and Pyrrha asked "What's your Semblance?".

I got flashbacks to before my fight with Cinder.
