Luke grabbed my hand and led me down the stairs and with each step the music kept increasing in volume. At this point Luke had to scream over the music to even talk to me. "You want a drink, like alcohol?" He asked motioning to the kitchen. I shook my head while speaking, "No thanks, I don't drink." He laughed, "Yeah, neither do I. Guess i'll have to get drunk off something else." He spoke while raking his eyes up and down my body. "You look nice by the way," He continued. "Thanks" It was all I could say without showing my awkwardness too much.
"Do you want to dance or something?" He asked putting his hand back in mine.
"Yeah," I nodded with a smile.
A remix of a Sam Smith song I was familiar with blared over the speakers. I attempted to sway my body with the music but I ended up laughing at Luke's lame attempts at dance moves. He instantly turned red from my laughter.
"How often does Calum throw these parties?" I asked still yelling.
"Whenever he feels like it. His parents are rarely ever home," I just nodded.
Lukes hand gently brushed over my hips as if it was an attempt to grab onto me. I moved closer to him letting my waist linger only millimeters away from his. I looked up at him to catch him biting his lip as a smirk appeared on his mouth. He quickly steppped back, "I'm going to go grab some water or something." I followed him into the kitchen having to twist my body every way to try to make it through the crowd. How did Calum even know so many people?
"Gabrielle!" I yelled remembering I hadn't seen her since the beginning of the night. I grabbed onto Lukes t-shirt as we made our way into the kitchen. He glanced at me confused. "I brought my friend here and last time I saw her she was just talking to Calum. Should I be worried? I don't know where she is." I spoke while standing on my toes trying to look through the bundles of people. "I bet shes fine but if you want I can help you find her. Just let me grab a drink real fast." I nodded in agreement, while going ahead and grabbing a drink for myself. Luke had grabbed a pitcher of what I guessed was lemonade out of the fridge skipping past the alcohol. With red solo cups in our hands Luke guided me through the bottom half of the house.
My nerves got ahold of me from not being able to find Gabrielle I drank the lemonade faster than I anticipated to. Luke brought the drink up to his lips as he scanned the downstairs with his eyes one last time. "I guess we should check upstairs." He said almost as if he was worried aswell. As I walked behind him I noticed his tall frame and how his shoulders slightly slumped as he walked, but it was definitely attractive.
We both stood still at the top of the steps. "Where do we even check first?" I asked glancing at the various rooms down each hall. "Follow me," He said waiting no time to lead me towards a room.
The door was closed, but without second thought Luke busted it open. "I'm so sorry!" I screeched as I witnessed a tangled Calum and Gabrielle making out on the bed of what I suppose was Calum's bedroom. I glanced at Luke to see him wide eyed as well. "Yea, uhm you guys can continue." Luke said ignoring Calum's angry expression before slamming the door.
Right as the door clicked closed we both couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Oh my god we're terrible. Luke you should've knocked!" I said playfully nudging his side. "Whatever, Calum will get over it. Probably actually forget since he seems too enticed while lip locked with your friend." I made a joking grossed out expression. "I'll lecture her about this later, but for now lets get some more drink because my nerves gulped down all of mine." Luke laughed his adoarble giggle before we headed back downstairs.
Before realizing it Luke and I had gone through multiple lemonades and our bodies grinded slightly in the crowd of teenagers. I didn't feel like myself. I wasn't tired, but I felt out of it, yet nothing in my mind was telling me to second guess it.
Luke held a grip on the back of my neck as he lightly moved my face closer to his. "Did anyone ever tell you how fucking hot you look right now?" He said as all his words seemed to slur into one syllable. That's when it hit me. Something was in our drinks, but whatever it was didn't make me move any further away from a just-as-tipsy Luke. "You are the first, Hemmings," I whispered letting each word linger off my tongue. "Glad to know it's all mine," He moved his other hand on my cheek and stared at me as if this was the first time he had ever seen me. "I don't just let anyone get this, you've gotta earn it," I spoke without thought instead I just let my mind pour out of my mouth. He moved his lips onto my neck softy kissing up to my jawline. "Am I earning some brownie points?" He said giggling into the kisses. I quickly pulled his shirt back to me as I backed towards the wall. "Grab me and kiss me and you've got it," I said letting him pin my arms back onto the wall. "My pleasure."
