"Hey, Danny. Hey, Linda..." Baez went back to her computer. "Linda?!" She quickly got up to catch up with her partner. "Danny!"
He turned around, his hand in his wife's, "What?"
Speechless, Baez made gestures towards Linda, with a confused expression on her face.
"That's how I reacted." Danny smiled a little. "Turns out, She never got on that helicopter."
"I was kidnapped." Linda shrugged like it was no big deal.
"Are you okay?" Baez finally managed to get some words out.
The blonde shrugged before her husband snaked his arm around her waist. "I'm not dead, so...."
"Does- does the family know?"
"Only Dad." Danny habitually put his hand on his gun.
"Danny?" Linda looked at him, "can we sit?" She wondered weakly.
"Yeah, of course." He led her back to his desk and sat her down in the chair. Silence passed before Danny asked, "so... you know who did this?"
Linda shook her head, "can I have some coffee?"
"Yeah, of course. One second." Baez went to retrieve the coffee.
Looking around the precinct, the blonde said, "looks the same."
"Same ol' 54."
"The house!" She suddenly exclaimed, putting her hands out a little. "Do you have a new one?"
"Yeah, the family chipped in and put a down payment on it. Still in Staten Island."
"Good. I like Staten Island."
"It's not as big, but Jack's going to college next school year."
She sighed, "our baby's growing up."
Danny caught a tear with his thumb. "You raised them well."
"I didn't do it all."
"Yeah, you did. When we... well, you know."
"When I was dead?" Linda smirked a little.
"Yeah. I had to do everything. It's tough. I know now you weren't just busting balls."
"Some-a the time I was." She smiled at Baez as she received the coffee. "Thank you."
"No problem. So... about the killer..."
The blonde laughed a little, "-lers. Two of 'em. And I'm alive, thank you very much."
Baez smiled, "Sorry. We usually deal with killers."
"Did you say two?" Danny wondered.
"Mmhmm." She sipped the warm coffee. "The guy tied me up and knocked me out and stuff, but there was definitely a girl, too." Linda sighed, "she looked and sounded so familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen her!"
"Maybe here?" Baez suggested. "You have started to hang around here a lot."
"I don't think so... but that's okay. You two'll catch 'em. After all, you guys are the best."
"Danny doesn't count," Baez smirked.
"What?" The detective answered, annoyed.
"You're already her favorite. You're her husband!"
"That's true," Linda agreed. "You've got a leg up."
Danny rolled his eyes, "all that aside, I'm just glad you're alive."
Linda touched Danny's cheek, "I am, too." She whispered before kissing his lips.

"Thank you so much, Maria," Linda said for the umpteenth time, as Baez opened the apartment door.
"No problem." She dropped the keys on the kitchen counter. "It's not much, but you two can take the bed, I'll sleep on the couch."
"Are you sure?" The blonde wondered, hating the intruder feeling in her gut.
"Yes, I'm sure. It's through that door." She pointed to the door.
"Thanks, partner," Danny smiled at her, still clutching his wife's hand.
"No problem." As they entered the bedroom, Baez called out, "and don't you dare have sex in there!"
"Great," Danny mumbled as he closed the door. "Now I'm gonna be thinking about that all night."
"Even if we could, I still...." Linda's voice trailed.
Danny took her hand in his, a look in her eye telling him she was holding something back. "Linda? What aren't you telling me?"
