Danny didn't know where in Jersey he was going, but he had been driving for almost two hours. He decided to grab a light breakfast when his stomach rumbled. He pulled into a grocery store parking lot and quickly bought bagels and peanut butter, along with a small pack of plastic knives. He walked over to the gas station that was conveniently right next to the store. He quickly brought another cup of coffee, and headed back to his quest.

A few hours later, Danny pulled up to an abandoned factory. The building was falling down, and it was in the poor side of town. He frowned, not wanting to go in there all alone without some form of back up. But he was way out of his jurisdiction, and the police wouldn't come because his gut "told him something was going to happen". He pulled the keys out of the ignition and locked the doors. Gun ready, the detective made his way to the factory.
Danny held his gun out as he silently surveyed the room, not knowing what to expect.

Meanwhile, a woman sat in the dark utility room, her hands and feet bound. The duct tape around her wrists, ankles, and thighs was getting itchy and irritating. The tape over her mouth was hot and sticky, pulling her skin. She didn't know how long she had been in the small closet, all she knew was that she was slowly starving to death. She was becoming nothing but skin and bones, and was very sick. She knew she was sick- she wasn't getting the right nutrients in order to function properly. She continuously prayed for someone-anyone at all- to come save her.

Danny had thoroughly checked the first few floors, finding nothing out of the ordinary. He sighed after he had checked the fifth floor, thinking that his brain was playing tricks on him. Ever since his wife died, he hadn't been thinking straight. He was about to give up hope when he heard a noise coming from... somewhere. He tried to pinpoint the shuffling sound, but it was more difficult than he thought.
Danny had just about given up when he heard a noise from the closet. Slowly, he made his way to it, anticipating the worst.
*********
The woman's head snapped up when she heard a noise from the other side of the door. She didn't know if it was a man or a woman, or even an animal. She held her breath as she continued to listen. She heard a gasp, then a voice. The voice sounded familiar... could it be? No, she shook her head, she was just hallucinating from the lack of nutrition. Still... she had to try.
The woman tried screaming through her taped mouth, her throat so dry nothing was happening. She scooted towards the heavy duty door, deciding to bang it. She missed the first few attempts, her head aching, causing her to be dizzy. She breathed some air of encouragement, then slammed her fists to the door. Her knuckles burned, but she had to get through to the person on the outside. She stopped abruptly, falling backwards because she was so dizzy.
************
Danny wondered why the banging had stopped, "Are you alive in there?"
The woman's eyes widened when she heard the familiar voice. That voice was sweet, sweet music to her ears. She kicked the floor, noting to the detective she was still alive.
"Okay! Hold on!" Danny tried the knob, cursing when it didn't move an inch. "It's locked! I'm gonna have to break it down. Get back."
The woman did as told, cringing when there was a loud thud. She laughed mentally when she heard the detective mumble and curse.
"Ow... okay! I'm gonna have to blast it! You ready?"
She kicked the boards again, waiting for the gun shot. She nearly jumped out of her skin when the gun went off.
Danny steppes in front of the closet, the light from his flashlight filling the area. When he saw the woman, he dropped the flashlight in pure shock.
