in which brett is a lightweight.

-

it was a saturday night, and eddy found himself home alone, editing videos on his laptop in the darkness of his apartment living room.

brett had gone out into the city with friends, and was likely dancing wildly in a bar somewhere. how eddy would love to see that.

however, eddy chose to stay home. bars and parties weren't really his thing, and he had work to do anyways.

-

it was nearly midnight now, and eddy was deciding on whether he should wait for brett to get home to go to sleep. on the one hand, he wanted to be awake when brett got home—they'd been apart for far too many hours already—but on the other hand, eddy's head hurt from editing and it was already way past his usual bedtime.

his question was answered, though, when he heard the ring of the doorbell. he opened the door to see a very intoxicated brett, who stumbled through the doorway and flung his body against eddy's, giving him a sloppy hug.

eddy looked down in surprise to see brett's face smushed up against his stomach, and brett's arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

"i missed you," brett said, just a little bit too loudly, his words slurred and his speech slow.

ah, eddy thought, he was drunk—very drunk.

"i missed you too, now come on let's sit you down," eddy responded, dragging brett's heavy body over to the couch, brett still clutching onto eddy like he was a teddy bear.

eddy pulled away from brett and looked down at him. his eyes were hooded, cheeks pink, and his t-shirt wrinkled but he still looked as beautiful as ever in the dimly lit room.

"how much did you drink?" eddy asked, stroking the top of brett's head.

"just one," brett answered, clearly holding back a laugh. eddy gave him a pointed look.

"fine," brett giggled like he was keeping a big secret, "maybe i had like five, or six."

eddy sighed, going to the kitchen to get brett a glass of water, he was going to need it.

he handed the water over to brett, who crossed his arms and shook his head like a two year old throwing a tantrum.

"no, i don't want it," brett protested.

"come on just drink the water," eddy pleaded. it was like trying to get a child to eat vegetables.

"no," brett replied grumpily, a frown growing on his face.

"please?"

"no."

eddy let out an exasperated sigh.

"brett yang," eddy said, his tone firm.

brett didn't respond, and only looked up at eddy's stern face with wide eyes. he whined in defeat, taking a small sip from the glass of water.

"that's it," brett said, smug, "no more water."

"drink the whole thing," eddy demanded, his tone unwavering. he didn't like to be so intimidating in front of brett, but he didn't know how else to convince the stubborn man to drink some water for his own good.

brett complied, and drank the rest of the water, setting the glass down on the coffee table.

brett 0, eddy 1.

"good boy," eddy praised, ruffling brett's hair.

"can i have a kiss?" brett asked with a whine, reaching his hands up to eddy, who towered over him.
