"Mister Harry is very nice," Lauren rambled at Camila's desk. "I miss you though." Camila shook her head, "Lauren, you only stayed with me one night. I'm sure Harry and his family love having you." Lauren shrugged, "you gave me more attention." Camila smiled, "you aren't used to having siblings are you?" Lauren shook her head. "Harry and his husband still care for you all the same though. I know change can be difficult."  Lauren took a bite out of her sandwich Harry had made, "I just liked your house." Camila laughed, "Technically, it isn't my house. I'm looking for a house." Camila changed the subject before Lauren could talk her into kidnapping.

Camila figured Lauren spent time with her during lunch in hopes of coming home with her because the younger girl was attached to her. However, Camila knew Lauren was safer with Harry. He even sends Camila updates or pictures of Lauren to her. It is better this way and safer for Lauren. Camila would never compromise that. "You remind me of my Mami." Lauren's statement caught Camila off guard. "I just want her back." Lauren's lip quivered. This was one of the first times Lauren mentioned her mother herself. "Come mer', Lo." Lauren moves from her seat to Camila. "You're okay hun."  Camila hushed her and whispered comforting things in her ear as she cried silently.  Camila picked up on the fact, Lauren never had the chance to grieve her mother's death. She wasn't sure Lauren fully understood the extent of her situation.

"Lo, you remember how the moon goes through different phases?" Camila spoke gently. Lauren nodded. "Well, we are like the moon. We have to go through different phases of...growing up. continously. Sometimes it is harder for people than others." Lauren furrowed her eyebrows, "I am a moon?" Camila chuckled, "Yeah, in a way. You're similar to the moon. What I was saying is that life can be so troublesome to handle, but it is a phase. Meaning it will pass, Lauren."

"I am the moon." Lauren happily moved from Camila's desk taking her seat as other students returned from lunch. Lauren excitedly was telling her friends about their conversation. Camila sighed sharing small smiles to her students.

At least Lauren is not crying.
