We swore that death will do us part

The door squeaks open as we walk in. It was almost completely dark besides some windows at the top of the building.
"What was this place?" Maxx asked.
"I think it was a mall." Cody responded. He walked down stairs that i didn't even notice.
After only a minute he ran back up, "the food and water is still there, we have a week before we run out."
"Only a week?" Austin asked.
"Unfortunately, yes. That means we have a week to learn how to use a gun because if we go somewhere to peacefully get food, they'll shoot us."
We all got quite again. I don't know about the guys but I couldn't get the thought of people shooting us.
I never thought this would happen but I guess after all the shootings that happened people must be more aware of this issue.
I already knew how to use a hand gun so I decided to explore the building while cody teaches the others how to use a gun.
I started going up a stair case and walked up to the second level. Every room was bare, plane, and had grafiti all over the walls. There was trash scattered around and some old broken furniture.
Every once in a while there was a gunshot from downstairs and it made me jump.
I was walking until it started to get dark. The sunset was peaceful but scary, I didn't want it to be night yet.
Everything seems to happen at night.
