Chapter 6

Chapter 21: Everest’s POV

                Before I went back with Andy to his house to spend the night, I left to my house where I could grab an old t-shirt and pajama pants. I quickly grabbed a spare set of clothes for the morning and I tip toed out of the house before I ran into May again. I wasn’t ready for another encounter with her.

                “Hey. You.” I heard someone snap from behind me, hate thick in the persons throat.

                Of course I would run into her, right after I promised myself not to see that devilish brat.

                “I told you to go back to where you came from!” The girl snapped, I didn’t even have to turn my head. I just stopped short and I gritted my teeth and I squinted my eyes shut in frustration with the 11 year olds bratty attitude that couldn’t be a result of bursting pre-teen hormones.

                I just continued on my way.

                “Listen to me!” She growled.

                “Make me.” I turned my head. “I don’t need you to mess around with me. I am 7- almost 8 years older than you. You can’t bully me out of here. I now have friends, a real family. You can either accept me or just ignore me. Either one will do.” I said to her before turning back around and walking down the stairs.

                “You don’t own me! I don’t care what you say!” She yelled. I rolled my eyes before exiting the house. Despite my bravery that I even noticed I still couldn’t help but feel one single tear stroll down my cheek that felt cold against my cheek, the cold air blowing against it.

                I walked down the street till I saw his house and I walked up the stairs to the porch. I rang the doorbell and I waited for Andy to answer. Andy swung open the door and grinned when he saw me. “Why the doorbell?” He chuckled as he pecked my lips.

                “Didn’t want to be rude.” I shrugged as I smiled at the soft kiss.

                “Hey Everest!” Jinxx smiled, opening a can as he came out of the kitchen.

                “Hey Jinxx!” I grinned at him.

                “Upstairs?” Andy asked and I nodded. We walked up the stairs and down the hallway till Andy turned to a white door with white hinging. He turned the gold knob and on the other side revealed his bedroom.

                I walked in and I jumped onto his bed, him joining after me. “Hey I have an idea.” Andy grinned. “Batman movie night? We can bring a few friends over.” Andy suggested and I nodded a happy smile. “Kaitlyn and Julia.” He said and I nodded. “And whoever wants to watch who lives here.” I nodded again.

                “I’ll be getting dressed.” I said as he pressed his phone to his ear, nodding. I went to his bathroom with my clothes pile. I stripped down and I smiled at the fact that I chose Batman Themed pajamas. Old Batman shirt with Batman pajamas that should be worn by a man.

                I walked back to his room where he was missing. “Downstairs Everest!” I heard Andy yell. I smiled as I walked down the stairs where Andy, CC, and Ashley were sitting in the living room. “Jinxx and Jake are sick of Batman.” He rolled his eyes.

                “I some reason think Batman movie night is every night for you.” I chuckled at him, I heard the front door opened.

                “It is.” Kaitlyn smiled. Julia nodded along with her. They were both in pajamas. “Danny and Ben had band practice.” She explained and we all nodded as they sat down on the ground.

                “Also CONGRATULATIONS ANDY AND EVEREST!” Julia squealed.

                “What’s going on?” Ashley said, CC nodding, both obviously not informed.

                “There dating you morons!” Jinxx yelled from upstairs. Andy, Julia, Kaitlyn, and I all raised our eyebrows at the 2 who held their arms up in surrender. I rolled my eyes playfully as I kissed Andy’s cheek.

                “Ship name needed.” Kaitlyn said in an almost monotone voice.

                “You and Danny need one. You too Julia! You need one for Ben!” CC said.

                “Ours is Belia.” Julia grinned brightly.

                “And we’re Kaitnny.” Kaitlyn blushed at the name.

                “We could be Everdy.” Andy shrugged.

                “Oh I like that!” CC laughed.

                “Nice ring to it.” I noted and Andy nodded in agreement.

                “WE SHIP EVERDY!” Kaitlyn and Julia sang together. We laughed for a minute till Kaitlyn spoke up.

                “Come on Andy, press play and let’s see some hot guy in a leotard with a cape.” Kaitlyn whined.

                “What the perfect thing to say when you were just talking about your boyfriend.” Ashley chuckled. Kaitlyn rolled her eyes as she got up and grabbed the remote and pressed play. I had my head in Andy’s lap as we watched the movie. He ran his hands through my hair absentmindedly as we watched the action packed movie thriller.

                I felt myself grow tired as the movie rolled along. I noticed a blanket was over as and I snuggled into it as I closed my eyes, feeling myself drift off.

                The next morning I felt warmth and a loose grip around my body. I slowly blinked my eyes open to see we were still in the living room. Everyone was asleep. CC and Ashley were unseen and probably went to their bedrooms long ago.

                Andy was asleep as well from what I could tell. I smiled at him as I kissed his chin and turned off the still turned on TV. I snuggled in closer and I listened to his slow and soft breathing. Thankfully, no one was a snorer in the room, and if they were they must have been snoring lightly.

                I let the events from last night replay in my head till I looked at the nearby wall clock. 7:30. I guess I could fall back asleep. Night Andy. I said silently to him before I fell back into the wonderful bliss of sleep that was brought by the calmness and the comfort of his arms.
