Three Months Later
She had been given Jungkook's manager's number but had never actually talked to the man. There was no reason for her to. So when she got the text notification it took her a minute to figure out who it was.
If she'd just opened it up right away maybe it wouldn't have taken so long.
Your husband will be back in Korea next week and would like to have dinner with you.
What...? Why? Didn't he have other things to do? She pursed her lips. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. At the end of the day she did like his band. Any girl in her shoes would jump at the chance to spend an evening with him, talking. That's all they'd be doing right?

Jungkook felt nervous when she agreed. He was so anxious he didn't even get her number from his manager, just had the man text for him. They sent her a list of possible dates that worked for him and she picked one. Now he had a notepad in hand and was furiously scrolling through his computer search results. He may have no idea what he was doing but if there was one thing Jungkook did know how to do, it was how to throw himself all-in to something. If he was going to take her out he was going to be the best husband ever and it was going to be a date worthy of her.
He didn't know how to do this husband thing but he'd figure it out. Hopefully before embarrassing himself further.

Since she lived outside of Seoul she had to take the subway to the area they were meeting. She didn't mind, just kept her head down and in a book. She knew BTS had landed several days ago in Korea, her Twitter feed was flooded with people talking about it and photos. She received a text telling her to wait at 6 'o' clock by the subway exit at the station she was stopping at.
So a little before 6 'o' clock there she was, wondering how on earth Jungkook was going to manage to avoid being recognized. This exit didn't get a lot of traffic but still.
"Hey." She felt a hesitant tap on her shoulder and spun around, coming mask to mask with her husband. He'd removed his earrings and was walking with a bit of a hunch, a baseball cap covering his hair and a black face mask concealing everything from the bridge of his nose to his chin. But she could still tell it was him.
"Hi." She said quietly, looking around to see if anyone had noticed them.
"Don't worry, no one's going to hurt us. There's security here." He said, noticing her agitation.
"I'm not worried about that."
"Oh, okay." She looked worried to him but maybe he'd assumed wrong.
His heart was beating in his chest. She was dressed casually but still looked so beautiful. He'd been second guessing himself these past couple days, telling himself he could do this, that he was a world famous popstar and a little thing like a date wasn't a big deal. And the next wondering if she even liked him or if she just saw him as a child. "Um...the restaurant's this way." His hyungs and he had come here a lot to eat in their trainee days so he knew he could trust the woman who ran it to keep their visit a secret. She had a special room they could use, where other customers couldn't see them.
Y/N just quietly followed him and he felt weird and awkward, knowing she was trailing him but neither of them were speaking.
The motherly lady greeted them and cooed over Y/N, giving Jungkook a knowing look. He ducked his head and walked the familiar way to the room in the back, sitting down and taking off his mask with a sigh of relief. Y/N sat down across from him and took hers off as well, stuffing it in her purse. The lady placed a menu on the table and left to get them some water, per Y/N's request.
Then there was silence as Jungkook stared awkwardly at his hands, wracking his brain for something to say. He'd practiced, ran through various scenarios in his mind, but now that he was actually sitting here it was like every thought had left him. He wanted to impress her, he was chastising himself for wanting that, a distracting inner monologue as he reminded himself he was fine just the way he was and if she didn't like him that was her problem.
Y/N had looked down into her lap at first but when he didn't say anything she looked up, smiling slightly at how awkward he looked. In a way it was kind of adorable. At the end of the day he might be a world-famous megastar but he was also a young man, just a little younger than her, a person just like her.
Jungkook sighed and put his head in his hands.
"I'm sorry....this is so awkward....I don't know what to say. Um....uh...." He stopped and looked up in alarm when she chuckled. This was terrible, he'd wanted to be smooth, get to know her better, instead he was just proving he was the king of failing to talk to girls.
The lady interrupted briefly with the water before leaving again. Before he could do anything Y/N poured them both a glass then tapped the menu.
"I've never been here so maybe you tell me what's good, order it, and then....mmmm...tell me how your tour went." Jungkook took a shaky breath, feeling relief that he didn't have to bear the entire burden of making this a good experience.
"Okay, well the bibimbap is pretty good."
"Great, let's do it." She said decisively. And before he knew it he was comfortable, telling her about the tour and some of the things that had happened. How tired he'd felt at one concert, how ecstatic the fans were at another. She listened and let him talk, nodding every once in awhile. When he wasn't thinking about it she was surprisingly easy to talk to. She made you feel like you were the only person in the world and your story was the most important.
