Two Months Later
The car rolled to a stop and Jungkook sighed, looking out at the huge mansion.
"This is stupid. We signed the contract, like shouldn't that be the end of it?" He grumped. Y/N reached over and gently rubbed his arm.
"I'm sure if Bang PD thought it wasn't important we wouldn't be here." Jungkook sighed again.
"I know.....I just....don't want to go in."
"Yeah, me neither. I hope his daughter remembers her place." Jungkook shivered slightly as memories from their first time meeting this man surfaced. He glanced over at Y/N, she was looking down, and his mouth went dry. Her lipstick was a soft shade close to magenta and it made her lips look....absolutely tantalizing.
He remembered how they tasted, he remembered how they felt....
She looked up and furrowed her brow. A blush quickly spread across his cheeks and he looked down and away. He wanted to lean in, he wanted to feel that again, but he was scared to try. What if it wasn't what she wanted? What if she had nothing to do with him afterwards?
"Let's get this over with." The nervous Y/N had a mask on, now she was a queen, giving strength to her king.
"Yeah, I'm going to play games once this is done." He opened the door and stepped out, offering her a hand. She took it and wrapped her arm around his as they walked up to the door where the Dispatch man was standing. They knew Bang PD and the, hopefully unnecessary, translator were right behind them. They held onto each other, each drawing strength from the other, it helped knowing the other was as anxious.
"Jungkook. Y/N. A pleasure to see you again." Jungkook opened his mouth but Y/N spoke first.
"Wish I could say the same. Still not sure why it's necessary to see your face again." Jungkook stayed stoic on the outside but on the inside he was laughing at the man's expression. If there was one thing you could count on Y/N for, he'd learned, it was to say what everyone else was thinking.
Bang PD stepped up to smooth over the ruffled feathers but he shot Y/N a smile as they went inside.
"I just wanted to see how things were going. I feel...connected to you all, after all I did bring you together." Y/N took a gulp of water to hide the scowl on her face.
"Things are going great. Never happier." Jungkook attempted, trying to pull his weight in this facade. The Dispatch man grinned and Jungkook shifted uncomfortably. What the hell....?
"That's good. When a man says that it means one thing. He's being pleased." Jungkook's face turned scarlet as he caught onto the meaning behind those words. He should stay calm. Cool. Collected. But something about the topic with Y/N.....he was just sensitive about it.
"Maybe he's the one pleasing me. Marriage isn't a one way street." Y/N said casually, now taking a sip of her wine.
"Of course, my dear. How thoughtless of me to suggest otherwise." This is why they were here, Jungkook realized. The man's plan to marry Jungkook to his daughter had failed so he wanted to have some fun humiliating him instead.
"How is she at pleasing?"
"W-What...?!" Jungkook spluttered, spitting wine all over the table cloth and Y/N thumped his back.
"We're not continuing this conversation." Bang PD said firmly. "If you insist we will leave." The man tried to give a congenial smile but the BigHit boss wasn't having it and forced a subject change. Y/N was glad. The idea of this creep attempting to discuss her in that way, in front of her....it was very offensive. She just wanted to leave.
So she watched the clock. And when they had stayed a reasonable amount of time, she gently patted the thigh of her now drunk husband. Jungkook had kept downing the wine and just attempted to stay quiet and in the background.
"We should get going, babe." He wished she called him that all the time, not just in front of this man.
"So soon?"
"Why? Haven't objectified me enough?" Y/N glared at the man, still sour over the topic he'd attempted to introduce earlier.
"Well then I guess I will see you some other time..."
"No." She said firmly, staring him down. "I have no desire to see you again." Sorry, Jungkook. But if there was another "invite" he'd be on his own. She refused to be treated like trash.
She didn't even give the man a chance to reply, just wrapped her arm around Jungkook's waist to keep him steady and left.
-
"That was so embarrassing." She complained when they were finally in the car. Jungkook had thrown his head back, enjoying the pleasant buzz he was feeling in his head.
"Mmmmm, I think I drank more than I should have. But it feels good."
"Was it cuz you were embarrassed too?" He nodded, trying to sort out his thoughts but failing and staying quiet as their driver pulled away.
"I want more. I want to forget that happened." She gave him a concerned look.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea. How much water did you drink? I don't want you to have a hangover tomorrow..."
"He wanted to know how you are but I don't know." Jungkook's thoughts were already off in another direction. Y/N patted his shoulder.
"Of course you don't. Don't feel bad about that..."
"I wish I did." It was the alcohol. It had to be. Y/N stopped mid-sentence, turning to stare at him. His eyes were still closed. A part of him was telling himself to shutup and stop talking. The other part was telling him if he didn't do it now he never would. Liquid courage.
"What...?" She must've heard wrong. His eyes opened and he turned his head, leaning towards her, his nose touching hers. She could smell the wine on his breath but he looked her in the eyes and seemed serious and aware of what he was saying.
"I wish. I did." He repeated, before gently pressing his lips on hers. "Y/N." He huskily moaned her name, just the taste of her lips was sending him into overdrive. She was frozen, feeling his arm snake around her shoulders, pulling her closer, his lips moving on hers.
They shouldn't. She couldn't be this vulnerable with him. She shouldn't be. That's what her head was telling her.
But her heart was arguing with every kind gesture he'd made over the past couple months. Every woman in the world would kill to be in her position right now and what was she doing? Debating herself. While one of the seven most attractive men in the world made out with her.
He pulled back, breathing heavily.
"If you want me to stop just tell me. I won't be mad. It's okay." He said quietly.
He was drunk. He had alcohol working through his system. And he still thought to stop and see how she felt. Get her permission to continue. He was overall....just a good, kind-hearted person.
Not everyone's like the people who have hurt you, she reminded herself. She knew that intellectually. But she had been determined to never be in a position to test that theory.
And yet here she was. She shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs.
"Don't." She whispered and he felt disappointment in his chest as he started to pull back. "Don't stop." Wait, what? She reached up and tangled her fingers in his hair, bringing their lips together again. "Keep proving it to me, Jungkook." She whispered in between one of their kisses.
Gladly.
