I'll prove it you. Those words had stayed in Y/N's head and she couldn't shake them, no matter how hard she tried. How? Would he really? A small part of her hoped he would. But the main part of her was just like, yeah we'll see. It's not like you haven't heard this before. It was these thoughts running through her head that distracted her and kept her from noticing the huge bouquet of flowers that were on her desk until she was right there.

Huh?

What the hell?

What was this?

"The delivery man just came and dropped them off about...half an hour ago." Her co-teacher explained. "It's a lot of flowers."

"Yeah, and I have to use my desk." Y/N muttered. Her coworkers were looking at her expectantly, waiting for her to tell them who would do something like this for her. But she ignored it and just looked for some kind of card.

She found it on the other side of the bouquet.

One thing you should know about me. I keep my promises.

There was no name but she didn't need one to know who'd sent them with a card like that. She sat down in her chair, chewing her lip.

Jungkook did seem to be more serious about this whole thing than she was giving him credit for. She allowed herself a tiny smile and a moment to enjoy the fact that he'd thought of her and made an effort. But then she got more serious.

We'd see how long this lasted.

One Month Later

They were out of the country again but Jungkook had found himself falling into a steady texting schedule with Y/N. It was mostly safe stuff. Questions about English. Talking about his fans. She knew lots of foreigners who loved K-Pop so he was getting a different perspective than he normally did.

It was at this point that Jungkook realized he'd succeeded. They were friends. Not super close friends but it didn't feel awkward to call her that. All he had to do at this point was keep it up. And for her part, Y/N made an effort too. Anytime he needed to vent she listened patiently, making him feel heard. If he wanted to try, well she certainly wouldn't stop the effort.

But something still felt off and he couldn't figure out what.

Until he woke up from yet another wet dream about her. He always felt guilty, he tried so hard to push those thoughts away during the day, but at night they tormented him.

He wanted more.

It was as simple as that.

He wanted to know everything about her. He wanted to know what made her tick, why she liked the things she did, why she thought the way she did. He wanted her lips on his, he wanted her moaning under him, he wanted her holding him down and riding him.

He wanted it. But did she? He was scared to find out.

Today something was off about Y/N's replies. They were shorter and even though it was texting he got the impression she was distracted.

Is something wrong? She never talked when something was wrong. She tended to be very vague. So it surprised him when she didn't change the subject.

Yeah, just some stuff with my dad. What kind of stuff?

And she told him. For once it was nice to be listened to. For once it was nice to be able to get it out of her system. Sometimes she convinced herself she was the crazy one, for having a problem with her dad saying one thing one day and another thing the next. But talking to Jungkook made her feel grounded, affirmed. And it was nice.

And he just couldn't get over the fact that she was confiding in him. He had a silly grin on his face for the rest of the day. All the members noticed.
