When Jungkook woke up the next morning his head didn't hurt as badly as he'd expected. He'd decided to go to his apartment instead of the dorms and Y/N had followed him inside, practically force-feeding him painkillers and water. And then she'd left.
He hadn't wanted her to go but now he was glad she had. He wasn't....he wasn't sure if he was ready for the next step. Did he want it? Yes. But he was also embarrassed about his lack of experience. Still though....
His heart soared when he remembered last night's kiss and the fact that she'd responded. That he hadn't been rejected. Now all he could think about was when he could see her next. When he could be around her next.
But he'd have to wait because they had an award show coming up that he needed to practice for and attend.
-
One moment Y/N would feel on cloud nine, that special warmth and excitement you get when you realize a decent person is attracted to you and finds you interesting and...wants you. Being wanted, even the most logical minds succumb easily to that siren temptation. The next moment she was reminding herself of all the ways it could go wrong and wrestling with just texting him and telling him she couldn't do this. But if she did that then she guaranteed it would go wrong.
Jungkook was training hard but still made time to text her and tell her about his day. If she was going to do that...wouldn't it distract him? Maybe it was better to wait. And then she had something else to think about. BTS was going to be at an award show in Hong Kong and one of her good friends, they'd both remained in Korea together, was planning on going. Would Y/N come too? The question in her head morphed into something else. Will you show your husband you support his career?
-
They'd had never spent the night together and yet Jungkook, as he sat there getting his makeup prepped, found himself dreading going back to the hotel after all this. Because he'd be alone. Because she wouldn't be there. He'd rather the award show go on all night. He sighed and his stylist looked at him worriedly so he forced a smile on his face.
"You okay?" Jimin asked as they prepared to walk out and perform. He nodded.
"I need to stop missing her, I have a job to do." He said, fixing his eyes on the stage and completely missing the smile that spread across Jimin's lips. Awwww, the little maknae, all grown up and dealing with normal relationship problems.....so cute. He patted Jungkook on the back.

Y/N was not big on screaming but she did sing along to BTS's performance. You wouldn't know she was married to one of the BTS members. She'd had to buy a resale ticket and it was standing and she didn't have the best view. But she reminded herself of when she'd first come to Korea. The wonder she'd experienced at just being in a venue like this. She had come so far and to be here...well she wasn't going to let a little thing like not being right next to the stage bother her. She was privileged and she knew it. So many people around the world would love a chance to be in her shoes, to just be in the same area so they could go to a concert. So she didn't have a bad attitude and focused on the music instead.
Or at least she didn't have a bad attitude until BTS took a seat. Then the people around her started screaming, trying to get their attention. She saw Hoseok turn around and wave and Jin blow a kiss and the screams got louder. They died down for the next performance, thank god, but as soon as it was over the screams started up again. The girl next to her was screaming Jungkook's name, her voice ringing out loud and clear in a quiet moment between the screams of the others. So Jungkook heard it. And he turned to wave, eyes searching for the screamer out of habit.
And he froze in shock.
"Oh my god, he looked at me!" The girl kept screaming. But his eyes had met Y/N's before she looked down and away. For some reason....she hadn't wanted him to see her. She hadn't wanted him to know. Her phone buzzed and she carefully pulled it out.
You're here? Yes.
OMG, why didn't you tell me?! Because she should be able to go see one of her favorite bands without being accountable to anybody. Because she should be able to enjoy good music without thinking of who she needed to text. She didn't reply, just focused on the next performance. A couple of times she observed Jungkook, noticed how his neck muscles tensed, how hard he was trying to stay professional and not turn around and look for her again.
When it was over Y/N headed for the exit as quickly as she could, anxious to meet up with her friend and go back to the hotel. But she was stopped by a hand on her arm.
"Ma'am, I need you to come with me." She looked up confused to see two security guards looking at her.
"Is there a problem?" Had she broken any rules....? She's read through them carefully.
"Please come with us." They wouldn't answer but she got the feeling if she resisted it wouldn't go well for her. She felt scared as she followed them, gripping her purse tightly. But they just walked her to a car and gestured for her to get in. What.....?
"What's going on?"
"Please get in, ma'am." She still had her phone so as she got in she quickly texted her friend what was going on and watched the streets.
"Excuse me, where are we going?" The man said nothing.
To her surprise, they eventually pulled up outside a luxury hotel. The man shocked her by getting out, opening the door, and saying in perfect English,
"I'm to escort you."
"Escort me...?" She followed him, gripping her phone tight. She could make a run for it now but she had no idea where she was in Hong Kong, even with her phone, and for all she knew the driver would call someone. She was stuck.
