Chapter 36 - Some hard Work

Time skip 2 months later

Gabe and Clementine have been working on their new house for the past month as they have just gotten in the foundation of the floors and walls and even the ceiling

Clem and Gabe were working on their house to get the ceiling ready, so it wouldn't rain inside.

"Hey, it's starting to look good, right? " Clem asked

"Yeah it is. Baby, can you pass me the hammer?" Gabe asked

"Of course, honey" Clem said grabbing the hammer beside her and then handed it to Gabe

Gabe took the hammer. "Thanks, Clem." Gabe said as he began to hammer the nail into the ceiling plate.

"What do you think? When can we live in here? " Clem asked smiling

"I say by the time the baby is born, this place will be a suitable home." Gabe said

"Hell, maybe even before then." He added

"I hope it'll be done soon" Clem said as she grabbed a granola bar out of her backpack and started eating it

"Yeah me too. We have the foundation so all we have to do at this point is put in the walls and the ceiling and then work on everything else. We already have the floors in." Gabe said

"Well we have at least 5 months left" Clem chuckled as she took another bite of her granola bar.

"Do you want one too? " Clem asked

"No, I'm good honey." Gabe Said

"Are you sure? You worked on this all day without eating anything" Clem said

"Clem, I'm fine. Don't worry." Gabe said wiping the sweat from his forehead

"Okay, sir" Clem joked

Gabe giggles as he put the tools away.

"I think that's enough work for tonight." Gabe Said as the sun fully set into Nighttime

"So, we've finished the ceiling today. That's great! " Clem said

"Yep. Finished the ceiling. And I think we did a pretty damn good job." Gabe said smiling

"Yes, we really did" Clem said smiling as well as she hugged him from the side

Gabe hugged her back with a smile still on his face

"Gabe? " Clem asked looking up to him

"Yeah?" Gabe asked looking down at her

"Can you carry me to bed? " Clem asked smirking

"Can't you walk?" Gabe asked

"I can, but I don't want to" Clem laughed

"Your wish is my command my love." Gabe said as he picked her up bridal style

"Thanks" Clem said nailing

"You're welcome my love." Gabe Said as he climbed down the ladder while holding her since they haven't built the stairs yet

After they got down the ladder, Gabe carried her back to their dorm while Clem rested her head on his shoulder

Gabe looked down at her and smiled at her as they walked into the dorm room hallway

"We have to start thinking about names" Clem said

"For the baby?" Gabe asked

"Yep" Clem said

"Of course. I mean we did talk about names before but we haven't had a full decision yet about it." Gabe said as they got to their dorm room
