Chapter 44 - Advice

Three months later

Gabe and Clementine were sleep in their bed as Clementine was now nine months pregnant and due to give birth to her daughter any day

It was still pretty early as someone knocked on their door

Gabe and Clem remained asleep

The person knocked on the door again. Clem woke up and then tried to wake up Gabe.

"Hey Gabe, someone knocked on the door... " Clem said sounding very tired

Gabe just moved around in his sleep and didn't wake up

"Ugh... Fine... " Clem said as she stood up to walk downstairs to the front door

She opened the door as Violet was waiting outside for her

"Hey Clem." Violet Said

"Hey Vi, what's up? " Clem asked rubbing her eyes

"We wanted to let you know that we found some new people at the gate." Violet said

"Oh really? What do they want from us? " Clem asked

"I don't know. But there's two of them." Violet said

"Okay. I'll come with you" Clem said as she put on her jacket

"Ok." Violet Said

"Should I wake up Gabe? " Clem asked

"Nah. I'm sure it's fine." Violet said beginning to walk away

Clem got outside before closing the door behind her. She then walked after Violet

As they walked outside, nobody was there because everyone was either still asleep or are already working

"Do they look like nice people to you? " Clem asked

Yeah. But we're about to find out" Violet said

"You're right" Clem said as they were approaching the gate

There two people stood outside of the gate

Kate was standing on the lookout post as they arrived at the gate

"Kate, open it up." Violet Said

Kate nodded before she opened the gate and the two persons slowly walked in

"Who are you people?" Violet asked

"We need help... We didn't eat or drink anything in a while. My daughter here got shot a couple days ago and we tried to patch it up, but I don't think that was enough" The man said walking closer to Violet and Clem

"Where are you two from?" Violet asked

"We two were in a group before, but it didn't work like it was supposed to" The man said

"And why should we trust you?" Violet asked folding her arms

"I know, that it's hard to gain someone's trust these days, but we won't cause any trouble. I just want my daughter to be safe. You could even send me away now, but please help my daughter" The man said

Violet then looked over at Clementine for her thoughts

"I'm not sure Violet... I mean they could be nice people, but I don't know. What if they're still in a group and are just here to destroy our home? " Clem whispered

"I know but we took a gamble when we rescued you and your people. Maybe it's the same here." Violet Said

"You're right. I guess we should take their guns and won't let them leave the school for a couple weeks. " Clem said
