Chapter 59 - A smoke

Clem walked to the main building and sat down at the stairs

Kate that walked over and sat down next to her

Clem didn't notice her as she was looking down while thinking

"Hi Clem." Kate said

"Oh hey Kate. What's up? " Clem asked

"Nothing much. You?" Kate asked

"Same here... But I have a question for you" Clem said

"What's up?" Kate asked

"Did you see, what happened as we were playing truth or dare and I had to slap Gabe? " Clem asked

"Yeah why?" Kate asked

"I feel fucking bad that I did it. Gabe told me, it isn't a big deal, but it's one for me. I had to hit the person I love the most... " Clem said

"Well I wouldn't say it was a slap. It was more of a... Light tap." Kate said

"That's exactly what he said too! Why does nobody get it, that I feel bad that I even did it. No matter how hard I slapped him. I did it" Clem said

"Clementine you're worrying too much. It was just a fun little game that kind of took a weird turn." Kate said

Clem let out a sigh. "Why the fuck is it so hard to be a good person? " Clem asked leaning her head against the wall

"Because this world doesn't make good people anymore. That's what makes you and Gabe exceptions." Kate said

"All of us. All people in this school are good people" Clem said

"Yeah but you and Gabe are especially good." Kate said as she took out a joint

"What are you doing? " Clem asked shocked looking at the joint

"Oh uh... just.... mellowing down some of my stress." Kate said as she looked for her matchbook

"Does it... Does it help you? " Clem asked

"Kinda yeah. You know what this is right?" Kate asked

"No not really. The only thing I know is, that it's a drug and you're smoking it" Clem said

"It's weed, Clem." Kate Said

"Weed... I've heard of this before" Clem said

"Yeah it usually helps me with stress." Kate Said still looking for her matchbook

"But it's a drug and it's bad... " Clem said handing Kate her lighter

"Oh thanks." Kate Said taking the lighter

"But Weed is not an extreme drug. All it does is just loosen you up a bit." Kate Said lighting the lighter

"It loosens you up? Does that mean, I wouldn't be stressed anymore? " Clem asked

"Pretty much yeah." Kate said lighting the joint

"I guess it must feel really nice, to not be stressed for a moment" Clem said

"Are you asking for a smoke?" Kate asked surprised as she gave Clem her lighter back

"What? Uh... No! I don't think I can do that" Clem said a bit nervously

"Come on, one smoke won't kill you." Kate said as she took a hit at the joint

"Yeah, I guess it won't... But please don't tell anyone I did this" Clem said taking the joint

Clem then took a hit at the joint as well. Right after that she coughed hardly.

"Are you sure, this won't kill me? " Clem asked chuckling as she handed Kate the joint back
