NATE'S POV
After having that argument with Lindy, I went straight into a call with Isaac and Sam. I was in no way whatsoever doubting my future actions for today, but I needed some sort of advice or something, I don't know. Reassurance?
They told me that I had nothing to worry about. Which felt good. Because I really didn't, right? Cameron's long gone, that ship sailed years ago. They did indeed give me reassurance, and said when they finish work, they'll be on their way to help me with my plan at the beach.
Lindy and I were not official. So I was kinda jumping straight into the whole commitment stage - in hopes of her actually saying yes.
I have been planning this for about two months. But I kept rocking back and forth, thinking, Is this really what I want? or Are you prepared for the responsibilities put into hand if she said yes? Those thoughts were just my conscience dawning on me, because this is what I want. I want Lindy. I love her. Now is the best time, because everyone is at their happiest. Our friends, ourselves and Logan.
I wanted to make her Melinda Grace Wellington.
The engagement is to be at the beach tonight, by the seaside cafe where we met. There will be a trail of roses from the inside of the cafe leading to the beach, where I will be waiting for her. This will happen after we've had our group dinner. Logan is even in on the plan. That little boy is completely psyched and swore to keep it secret for me. He's going to run up with the box and pass me the ring when I get down on my knee.
I haven't made any wedding ceremony arrangements yet, as I wanted Lindy to plan it. However, I have picked a dress for her and I know she'd adore it because I know what she'd like, so the viewing and fitting is for next week. I am kind of getting ahead of myself, by picking her dress already. She might not even say yes.
Things are a bit rough between us at the moment because of what I said to her. I overreacted for sure. I want to be home early so that when she comes back, I can apologise to her, hold her, and help her and Anna with the dinner.
Nonetheless, I am praying that she says yes to my proposal. It is quite forward - she's not even my girlfriend. We don't have any sort of title. Asking her to be my wife can show her how dedicated I am to her only.
I just hope it's not too much or too quick. The last thing I want to do is confuse her.
I was mopping the living room floor when I heard the front door open, and the voices of Logan, my love and Anna. I finished up what I was doing and walked out of the room and down the hallway.
"I'm so excited for tonight!" Logan cheered, playing with some toy in hand.
"It's just family dinner, baby." Lindy said, chuckling.
"I know, mama. I just love it when we all have dinner together." He replied.
There's no heart more pure than his. So easy to tell he's ecstatic about tonight. Likewise bud.
I emerge from the hallway into their sight. I smile, and say, "Hey."
They all smiled and responded. The ladies were putting the new shopping away into refrigerate, freeze or storage. Logan looked up at me and asked, "Can I have some orange juice?"
"Of course." I tell him. I saw a pack of orange juice bottles in one of the bags, so I opened it up and gave him one. He thanked me, and headed off to the living room.
"The floor's wet, Logan. Be careful," I warn him, before helping put the rest of groceries away. In minutes, we were done and then Anna quickly drove home to put her own groceries away, before she'd come back here again.
