LOGAN'S POV

Dad picked me up from school and then we went to the mall to eat, where I had a pizza and he did too. Ellie was with us as well for a play date, so she got some spaghetti. My dad and I will be dropping her home later. But back to to the food, a big pizza, all to myself - can you believe that? Mum would usually get me those tiny little pizzas, that are probably equal to about two or three regular slices. You know those ones on the kids menu?

Well, Dad's really treating us to it today. After the food, we went to a few shops as he needed some things, until he bumped into some man called Louis. They really got talking. I didn't know who he was though, and I'm getting bored.

"This is boring. My mum and dad always do this when we're at the mall," Ellie states.

"Right? It's so annoying," I mumble to her.

"Wanna get a smoothie? I have about five bucks."

"Is that enough?" I ask her.

She shrugs. "If not we can just share,"

Share?

I turned back from her and towards my dad, who was still talking. I tapped his arm and he looked down at me, "Be patient bud," he laughed.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Can I have some money for a smoothie please?"

He was still chatting away but listened to what I requested, as he pulled out his wallet and gave me twenty. I gave him a fist bump and then Ellie and I were off.

"How much did he give you?" She asked me as we walked to the smoothie shop.

"Twenty!" I beamed.

Her eyes went wide. "Really?"

I nodded. "We could get large ones!"

"Yessss," she says and gives me a high five. Within a few minutes, we were there. I didn't really understand the names of the drinks, like Berrylicious and Banana twist. What is a twist?

But I knew what I wanted. Ellie didn't tell me what she wanted, as she got distracted by a puppy in the shop, but I think I had some idea. Her favourite fruit was a mango, so probably something with that in it. When I got to the front of line, a nice looking lady was smiling at me.

"Hi, how can i help you?" She had light pink hair and long yellow nails.

"Hello, uh can I have a strawberry smoothie? And... do you have something with mango in it?"

"We do. We have a juice with mango and passion fruit. It's very sweet," she tells me.

It sounded interesting. "Oh, I'll have that too! please."

Don't forget your manners!

She grinned. "Okay. Regular or large?"

"Large,"

"That will be nine dollars."

"I have twenty," I said as I gave her the money.

"Thank you," she said with a laugh, and gave me some money back. "Lastly, your name?"

"Logan."

She nodded with a smile as she wrote my name, along with some other squiggly looking letters down on the two cups. "Thank you very much," I tell her and I move over to the waiting side. That's when Ellie comes back over.
