i know i've been gone... :( but i'm gonna do my best to be consistent!
LINDY'S POINT OF VIEW
When I woke up in the morning, Nate was gone.
He has a business trip today in London and will be staying for two days. His flight was at 4am, and it's currently 9, but I thought he'd at least say bye. He's long into his flight now. Of course, he'd have got wifi so he can stay online for work and whatever else he pleases. So he most definitely has access to contacting me. I'm a bit pissed, I won't lie - so I'll try calling him tonight, where I think it should be a couple hours ahead for him in the UK.
I texted him, have a safe landing, i love you. Putting my phone down, i left it and trotted downstairs where it was oddly quiet. Rosco was out in the garden enjoying the sunlight, but Logan and Cameron weren't around. I scrunched up my face in confusion.
I wonder where they've gone. Maybe to pick up something for breakfast? Knowing Logan, he probably bribed Cameron into letting him have something ridiculous like an ice cream sundae.
Out of no where, I felt a cramp. THAT cramp. Sighing exasperatedly, i waddled back to my bathroom and put on a pad. Unfortunately, the Red Sea was on its way. Cue the back pain! "You know what... you should treat yourself," I said to myself in the mirror as I rinsed the hand soap lathered on my hands, off.
I'm gonna make brownies. And I'm gonna eat it while it's hot, with some ice cream. Yep.
As I began to bake, I couldn't help but wonder what Nate was thinking. I was absolutely clueless. There's so much that could be on his mind, but I have no idea what. I dozed off, folding the brownie mix for much longer than I should've.
Am I not prioritising Nathan enough?
Is it acceptable for Cameron to continue being here?
Should I put white chocolate chunks into the mixture?
Oh shit, the mixture. Right, that's definitely ready to go in the oven...
"Oh my god, mum, are you making brownies??" Logan's sweet little voice squealed, as i turned to face him with an astonished look on his face.
"Yeah, in the morning?" Cameron chuckled.
"There is no specific time in which brownies must be baked," I retorted, and then looked to my boy, "And you damn right i am!"
"Can we have it with ice cream?! Please?" He begged, putting on the puppy dog eyes and quivered lip. He is his mother's son.
Who could say no to that face... Not my hormones!
"You read my mind bubba."
"Logan, i just bought you ice-" Cameron started, before Logan cut him off with his precious laugh.
"Hey! Shhhhh," He giggled, and Cam clocked on, getting the memo.
The rest of the day was filled with sentimental moments. The new guards had arrived, and we briefed them on the situation once more. Cameron appeared to have come further out of his shell as a result of this. Not in a bad way, of course, but he clearly felt safer. He cooked dinner for the three of us, and it was great to see him have so much fun. We played Monopoly post meal, until Logan accepted his loss and say, "rage-quitted" the game.
Then it was bed time.
It's strange now to sleep alone at night. It almost hurts and feels completely foreign.
I can't wait for Nate to return and clear the air. He's my person.
