Chapter Five
Atlanta
▬ First Person- Electra’s P.O.V ▬
“Hey,” a voice caused me to look up from where I was sitting in the freight-liner and into the dark eyes of the man hovering above me. “Your friend going to be alright?” he asked her jerking his head in Thea’s direction, Thea who was curled up in a ball shaking with sobs.
“I don’t know,” I sighed.
“Are you going to be all right?” he asked.
He’s sweet. I thought to myself. He looks so concerned, even after I nearly put a bullet through his head just five minutes ago.
“Yes, thanks for your concern,” I nodded up at him gratefully. “It’s just been an unbelievably shitty few days,” I explained to him.
“Tell me about it,” he muttered. “I’m Glenn by the way,” he introduced himself with a slight smile. “And our driver’s T-Dog,” he informed me.
“I’m Electra,” I smiled.
“Nice to meet you Electra,”
“Who’s the girl?” I asked nodding over to the sleeping figure in the corner.
“She’s uh-” Glenn stuttered causing me to raise an eyebrow. “We don’t actually know,” Glenn said. “We found her screaming in the middle of a street with a walker coming at her, T-Dog managed to shot it and then she fainted out of fear,” Glenn explained. “Been out ever since,”
“Wait, she was out there?” I asked him immediately. “All alone?” I glanced at the sleeping figure.
“Yeah….” He frowned.
“Give me a minute,” I told him walking over to the girl and getting a good look at her.
She was curled in a ball covered with a dark red blanket and could have played the part of a princess in a play perfectly. Her hair was a colour of light brown which could be easily mistaken for dark blonde which fell straight down to her shoulders. Her features were incredibly delicate, her lips the colour of soft orchid and her skin fair.
I looked at Glenn who seemed to be attempting to console Thea causing me to look over to the girl and sink down next to her.
“I know you’re faking to be asleep,” I whispered looking straight forwards. “A tip for next time: You’re breathing to fast. When people sleep they relax, therefore they breath slower. It’s a mistake I used to make as a kid all the time,” I explained to her before looking down to her eyes which were still shut.
“You won’t tell him, will you?” her eyes stayed closed but I could tell she was talking about Glenn.
