"AROUND THE SHADOWS CREEP-"
------------------------2020
-Skylars eyes fluttered open to the sunlight streaming through the curtains. She lifted her head from off of Ryans bare chest. She looked down at herself and noticed how revealed she was too. Slowly lifting herself up, she sat at the edge with a silent sigh. She rubbed her head, a little in shock to what had happened last night.
She touched her swollen lips with more memories flowing in. Shaking her head she stood up and went into the bathroom.
She looked at herself in the mirror, her fingers gripped tight at the edge of the sink. The face of an almost grown women stared back at her. She finally managed to pull her eyes away from her image.
She silently changed....and headed out of the room.
-The streets were dead quiet like always. All that was heard was the whistling of the wind. The once busy city had died down since half of the world vanished.
The sky was darker than usual. Mostly fog covered the land. Skylar paced slowly ahead. She occasionally looked up, only to see few on the streets. Their heads were bent low.
She dug her hands deeper into her coats pockets.
That is when she saw her.
Skylar stopped in her tracks at the sight of Tristan Stark walking her way. Tristan hadn't seen her yet.
"Tristan?" Skylar called, making the woman look up. "Skylar. Hi." She answered softly as she approached her. "What are you doing here?"
Tristan looked to the side and saw the same dinner she had lost Aloria. "Breakfast?" Tristan asked, nodding her chin towards the dinner.
-They sat in silence at the beginning. Once they had brought their coffees, Tristan decided to speak up. "Um so, how you've been?"
The 18-year old smiled warmly. "I've been good. I just graduated and I'm already accepted somewhere. At Syracuse University." Tristan nodded with an 'Oh'.
"And..you and Ryan have been dating all this time right?" She smirked. Skylars smile dropped but she didn't let it go to notice. Instead she shifted in her seat uncomfortably. "Yeah. Um, I'm actually thinking about ending that."
Tristan raised her eyebrows. "Why? Ryan is such a great guy."
"Oh. Of course he is. Don't get me wrong. I love Ryan but.....it just doesn't feel right." She added softly. "I can't get everything out of my head. I can't forget them. I'm trying to be happy but to see others with such....faces of...pain. It hurts me."
