chapter 3 : what just happened?

A beam of sun rays enters the room and a loud scream in my ear makes me jump off my bed. As I slowly open my eyes, I see James standing besides my bed laughing. I look around to see that I was in my dorm. how did I get here? Wasn't I in room 46 a few minutes ago?

" What the heck is wrong with you?!" I yell at James who was still laughing.

" Ah, wittle baby still enjoying his wet dweams?" He says as if addressing a 3 year old.

As I was about to respond my whole body aches. I get up and place ice packs in all the places that hurt." What time is it? "I ask James. " It's only 6 am , it's almost time for breakfast. And  man do you moan!! What fucked up dream were you having?".

" Wait so it wasn't real? What happened last night? And why does my head hurt so much?" I say putting some ice on it." Well uhm you accidentally took my drink last night and drank my alcohol, danced your ass off and got into a fight afterwards the you blacked out, i carried you here then the rest is history."

" So I didn't ... So Melanie and I.... Damn. Ok but what's with the massive headache?"

" It's called a hangover. You'll have it all day if you don't drink this. " He hands me a cup of tea with honey and lemon which made it a lot better. As I lay in my bed this moron started talking knowing very well that it was awful to my ears which he found amusing. If my body wasn't aching so much I would punch him. I tell him of what I dreamt about then bursts out laughing.

" Dude a Girl like her would never be into a guy like you! She's only after guys from rich families and have money!!" James says rudely.

" Like the heck do you know? It's not like you have before!"

" Actually 'Mr I think I know it all' , I -". He gets cut off by a  knock on the door. He stands up to open it." Hey babe! How are you this morning?" He says this and gives someone a kiss and invites them in. Two figures emerge from the door and it is Melanie and my cousin . " Hey babe I didn't see you today at breakfast so I figu-" responds Melanie

Rebecca comes over to me and kneels down next to my bed." How are you feeling? I'm sorry I didn't come yesterday to check on you." Again before I get a chance to reply , Melanie is the one who interrupts."what is this no good pit sniffer doing here James? And why are you taking care of him when you could be  having breakfast right now? "

" First of all I live here. Secondly it's basically his fault I got attacked by that fat if not weirdly buff moron since james spiked my drink and yours for being a bitch about me coming to Rebecca!!!!😡" I blast back at her. " Oh hell no! It's all your fault! You the one who thought that you could come to her all drunk and manipulate her and take advantage of her since she was druuuunk too. You should have known your place."

" Hey! Both of you just stop it! Look I appreciate your help Mel but even I think you went over the line there. You just had a simple misunderstanding of the situation. Anyway I'm going for breakfast. Should I grab you anything?she asked looking at me." Yes uhm some custard will do since I can't feel my jaw." James and Mel both stare at her as she kisses my forehead.Melanie out  of jealousy I think, grabs James by the neck and kisses him.We also look at them  shocked then James breaks the silence .

James: the heck is going on here?

Rebecca: what do you mean?we should be asking you that!

Melanie: what do you mean you? aren't you the one who kissed  on his forehead?

Me: like that is the most shocking thing that just happened in this room🙄.

James: dude as I was saying before they got here, I do have experience. Melanie and I are dating.

My jaw and even Rebecca's drops at the same time.we both get up and go get breakfast before the conversation continued. We were wearing the same grey sweat pants and black t-shirts. We were about to go for our morning jog which explains our dress code but explained otherwise for the other students.we also got the same meal, a green apple, a protein shake, a fruit  and a plain yogurt. We sat together then suddenly it happened again. Someone grabs me by the shoulder and pulls me down. This time I didn't have a rough landing. To my surprise, Billy( the fat guy) didn't pull me down, but a football player by the name of Scott.

Scott: Hey! Didn't Billy teach you a lesson last night and tell you to be a cock somewhere else?

Me:What the hell dude! Why would you do that! Can't a guy just enjoy his breakfast peacefully without being thrown on the ground!

Scott: well you would if you just left her alone in peace ! Now grab your stuff and leave or else!

As I was gathering my things , I thought there is no way that I'll let this slide. So I turn and punch him in his gut and make him fall. we start fighting then we are pulled away from each other . Everyone in the cafeteria was now watching . Again Rebecca checks up on me.

Rebecca: seriously it's like someone put a bounty on you. Jeez are you ok?

Me : actually as long as Melanie is the one who complained then I'll be a bounty. But I'm alright. Can't say the same for the tomato over there.

Scott: what's wrong with this bitch! Is she stupid or something?

Melanie: yah what's with you? Why aren't you checking on Scott and not that man whore over there?

Rebecca: first of all you have to stop calling him that. Learn to know the man before you say such. Secondly he is my cousin. Of course I'll check on him. I don't recall asking you to sign up some bodyguards for me!

Melanie : I'm sorry what is he? Y'all are cousins? Like as in cousin cousin?

Me and Rebecca: yes!!!!!

As we were having this argument , the Dean of the school walks in and calls me, Rebecca , Scott, and practically everyone who was involved in our fight. The Dean summons our parents to the school and uncle Sid calls my parents to come since the school did not have their details for obvious reasons . We were all just leaving our last class for the day when suddenly the school goes insane when a limousine pulls up. We all rush to see who it was and it was my parents . Just as Rebecca and I were turning back, they call us. The whole school looks at us shocked that these celebrities know us. They approach us .

Mom:  why in the blazes were  we called to this school when we are really busy people?

Dad: what's going on here son ? Niece? Care to explain? My dad says folding his arms over his chest.

(Everyone's jaw drops)

Me :  dad I myself cannot explain what is going on here too. I'm still putting the pieces together. I got attacked by two ,actually several  people ever since getting here . They all thought that I was sexually harassing Rebecca. I got thrown on the ground quite a number of times and I let my anger get the best of me and well fought back. (I sigh.)

Mom :  damn girl! I didn't know you got the hots like that. Come on now y'all. Let's go talk to that Dean of yours and sort this out. Boy go pack your bags we are leaving.

While my parents were talking to the Dean, we were outside waiting for them. I had already packed my stuff. Everyone was still stunned and came asking us a lot of stupid obvious questions like : are they your parents? Did she give birth to you directly? How is she your cousin?

Scott and Melanie felt so guilty of picking on me and came to apologize for everything. James also gave me a call apologizing. He had already left campus because his grandparents had passed away so he couldn't pay for the accommodation. He found a place to stay with some of his friends but moved to an apartment somewhere with some girl.any way back to reality.

My parents have asked the Dean to excuse me from school for a couple of days to get things straight and sorted out and for me to calm down.
