"I HAVE TO GO."-
Being with her was his favorite part of the day, she would turn the radio on and they would jam out to music on their way to a nearby place where they could grab lunch.
He's never had a friend like her before, she was so happy and adventurous.
After their voices were exhausted, she turned the radio down and looked where they were driving. They've practically been driving in a circle for the past fifteen minutes and she's pretty sure he doesn't know where he's going.
"Where are we going?" Millie laughs, looking over at Finn in question.
Finn just shrugged, trying to find a place.
She laughed some more at his answer, thinking he liked to joke around a lot.
"How about there?" She suddenly asked, trying to help him out by pointing her finger over the dash to a small place that just had four letters on it, cafe.
Finns eyebrows furrowed in curiosity, he drove down towards the cafe and found a parking lot a little down further from it. They got out of the car as soon as they parked.
When they entered, a huge breeze of fresh air hit their faces. Finn flinched at the contact.
He was surprised to feel the breeze when they were inside, so he stood by the door and just felt the cold air, holding his hands up to it while other customers pushed past him.
Millie stopped in her tracks and turned around, bursting out laughing at what Finn was doing.
He smiled to her and continued to just feel the strange breeze that came from a vent above the door.
She grabbed his hand and yanked him out of the door way, "What are you doing?" She asked with a smile. Finn pointed to the giant box above the door giddily.
"Air!" He almost yelled, catching the attention of a few people sitting at booths and what not.
Millie's cheeks turned a dark cherry red in embarrassment, looking around and grabbing Finns other hand that pointed to the vent quickly.
"Okay!" She said quickly, holding both of his hands and looking him in the eyes.
Finn was still smiling though, squeezing her hands firmly before she let go and grabbed his wrist.
He let her pull him along as she guided them to the very back booth so they wouldn't get that much attention. Finn sat down next to her instead of across from her which made her smile.
"What- What are you on?" Millie suddenly asks, chuckling to herself at how weird this boy could be but how cute he was at the same time.
Finns eyes were confused as he looked around him, lost.
"A...chair?"
Millie laughed again, shaking her head.
"Never mind." She suddenly says, looking down at the table and drawing her finger along the fake granite. Finn watches as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and just stared at the table shyly.
Finn didn't know how girls worked but he knew they were all beautiful, inside and out.
So, he reaches over and stops her finger with his. She pauses and looks up at him, though, he was already looking at her with adoring eyes.
Abruptly, Millie held up her finger and stood out of the booth, looking to Finn.
"What do you want? I'm gonna get a coffee." She asked, pointing her thumb to the front register. Finn furrowed his eyebrows and put a finger on his chin, thinking.
"Coffee?" He said unsurely, just getting whatever she was gonna get. Millie said ok and walked to the back of a line of people.
As she left, Finns phone suddenly started to buzz. He slips it out from his pocket answers the call, not really bothering to look at the name. He didn't want another migraine today on how to read a name correctly.
"Hello?" He answered, his eyes averting to Millie who was waiting in line. She saw him on the phone and looked at him confusedly.
Finn shrugged and returned his eyes back to the table.
"Where the fuck is my car?" A deep, gruff voice yells into the phone, causing Finn to jump.
It was Dacre.
"What?" Finn asked, furrowing his eyebrows, confused. He needed to hear the voice again just to see if it really was who he thought it was.
"You know what I'm fucking talking about, meet me under the damn pier tonight at eleven o' clock sharp. I have Natalia, you won't get away with this, you little shit." Suddenly the phone cut out and Dacre had hung up.
Finn fell back into the booth, shocked at the phone call he had received from him. Dacres voice was bone chilling.
But he knows where Finn is now, he doesn't have much time. He needs to go, right now.
So Finn hoped out of the booth and saw Millie coming back with drinks in her hands.
"I have to go." Finn says firmly, breathing heavy in fear.
Millie's eyes scan his face, he looked like he had seen a ghost. Her mouth hung open in shock, shaking her head as to why he had to go.
"Why? Are you okay?" She asks quickly, handing him his drink. Finn looked like he was on the verge of sprinting out of there as quickly as possible.
"It's not safe, I have to go right now." He pressed again, his voice was a low husky.
He abruptly grabs the coffee out of her hands and opens the lid, throwing his phone inside the hot liquid.
"Are you crazy? What are you doing?!" Millie bursts out, setting the coffee on the table. Finn sighs, his expression was serious in the moment.
Before he left, he places his palm on Millie's cheek softly and caresses it with his thumb as if this is his last goodbye.
"Goodbye." Is all he says, letting her go and rushing out the door, leaving her confused as ever. Her heart sank as she looked to the table, seeing the two coffees.
She looks around to see many people looking her way, so she grabs her cup and rushes out of there, embarrassed. Her cheeks were more red than ever in the moment.
As she walks out the door, she sees his car speed down a road, leading to the pier.
Why on earth did he need to leave?
He had left Millie there helpless, she felt like an idiot for trusting a random boy that she's never even met before.
