"THEY TAUGHT ME THINGS. BAD THINGS."

-

Finn woke up to a bright ray of sunshine shining in his eyes. He squinted, his eyes opening carefully before he covered his face at the bright light.

His back hurt really bad, it was sore from the position he was in.

He was sitting up right on the couch and a certain brunette cuddled up next to him. He looked down at her, seeing her peaceful state.

Finns eyes scanned her face, she was still sound asleep but he was ready to move. He didn't want to wake her up though, she looked so relaxed and just outright beautiful.

He loved her beauty, he admired it.

He still didn't understand why she wanted to talk to him so much. Yet, she could talk all day and he would listen.

Finn has never fallen in love, nor has he really experienced it. He didn't know how it worked or if it just happened.

But maybe the feeling he gets when he's with her is that of love, the unexplainable beating in his chest and crave for wanting to just touch her. Being so close to her made him feel dreamy and happy, a goofy smile was plastered onto his face just thinking about her.

"Morning." She says, her eyes were now looking up at him. He realized he had been staring and looked away, a blush creeping onto his cheeks.

Was this what it felt like?

"Hi." Finn says meekly, turning back to meet her eyes. Her head was buried into his shoulder, she hadn't moved at all.

Millie giggles at his cute response.

Then she pulled away from him, her neck was so sore, the pain was unbearable but nonetheless she rode with it. Her hand trailed up to her neck, trying to ease the pain.

She watches as Finn starts to stretch too, wincing at every twist.

"What time is it?" Millie asks, rubbing her eyes and looking around the room. Surprisingly, there wasn't a clock to be seen. You would think they would have one.

Finn shrugs, collapsing against the couch with his arms sprawling out.

Suddenly the door opens, a small creak erupts as the door turns.

They both turn their heads, behind the door reveals Caleb with two plates. He had a small smile on his face as he walked in with food.

Millie sighed, so thankful of Caleb for bringing food.

"Yes! Thank you." Millie says, throwing her arms up in victory before getting up and helping him with one of the plates.

"No problem, my parents just left and I need to go-"

"-see Sadie, yep." Millie corrected him, eating a piece of bacon. Caleb rolls his eyes and a blush comes onto his cheeks. Finn just furrows his eyebrows and eats his bacon too, not really understanding what's happening between the two.

After Caleb leaves, Millie turns to Finn with a questioning face. He raises his eyebrows and looks back at her.

"What did you want to do?" She asks, setting down her plate and looking over at Finn. He was still eating his bacon as he was wrapped in a blanket, he looked like ET from her view.

Finn shrugs, then a question pops into Millie's head that she's been dying to ask. It was just a mystery to her.

There was a long pause before she spoke.

"Hey, remember that day- when we went to the cafe and you...left?" She asks, looking down while fiddling with her fingers nervously.

Finn watched her, he could tell she was nervous. He remembered the day very well but, he didn't understand why she was asking about it.

Finn just nods firmly, hugging himself with the blanket.

"Can I ask why?" She says, the question had caught Finn off guard tremendously. He knew he should tell her for the better but he wasn't thinking it would be this soon.

"I came from...a gang." Finn starts, his voice was slow and easy, he avoided eye contact but still managed to sputter out words. Millie was patient with him, her eyes furrowed at the mention of a gang.

"They taught me things. Bad things." He says quietly, now meeting Millie's hazel eyes.

She nods, these people were probably the ones who captured Finn. She couldn't imagine what they did to him.

"They always teased me, made me do their dirty work...I don't want part in that." He continues, taking the blanket off of him and throwing it over the couch without a care.

Then he sighs, "I left because they are looking for me. Two days ago, the day I left...we met up. He says he had Natalia."

Millie furrows her eyebrows, a comforting hand going onto Finns broad shoulder. He was being hunted, that's why he left. And because he wanted to save his friend.

"Who's Natalia?" She interjected quickly, she wanted to know who this girl was. A sting of jealousy hit her but she pushed it away, now isn't the time for that. Although, she couldn't help but feel the burning sensation that tingled under her skin.

"A friend. A good one. She let me leave."

Then he paused.

"I left my car too, with everything, even the money and - and my skateboard and..." Finn cut himself off, he just felt hopeless at this point, miserable.

What's the point of even telling her?

"It's okay, we'll catch them...we'll-"

"No, it's not that easy. You stay, for safety." Finn says gently, looking her in the eyes as if she's the most fragile thing in the world. He didn't want her to get hurt. It would be on his hands.

"Why?" She asks, leaning in closer. She never knew this boy was in trouble, they could've helped earlier. She thought it would be easy.

"It's Dacre, he won't stop. Not until he gets what he wants."

"Well, what does he want?"

Finn pauses, taking a deep breath and looking down at his lap before looking back up at her with the same glint in his eyes. He lifts his finger and points to himself, shoving his finger harshly into his chest.

"Me."
