"DIDN'T ANYONE EVER TELL YOU NOT TO BRING A KNIFE TO A GUN FIGHT?"-
Millie sat on her bed, fiddling with a small Polaroid picture in her hands as hot tears started to cloud her vision. She quickly wiped them away, sniffing.
The picture was old, torn and faded. You could hardly recognize the people in it.
It was her and her family.
Millie had missed them so much, especially with everything going on. After David took her in, there was no going back. They eventually moved out to Los Angeles, California, for his job.
But at least she met a cool brother along the way, Noah.
Her thoughts kept going back to Finn. She put the picture on her nightstand, where she always keeps it and brings her knees to her chest, hugging them as she sat in the middle of her bed.
He was so different from anyone she's ever met. It's like he was from another planet or something, he would do the most unexpected things at the most unexpected times.
He was unpredictable and Millie thought that was attractive. Also the fact that he was really funny, like what he did in the cafe this morning.
Millie had no clue why he left, she just knew it was probably more important than her.
After he left her, she walked all the way back to her car and drove home. She was so pissed but sad at the same time, she didn't understand it.
Why would he leave her like that? Why? What else could be so important that he just had to run off?
She felt alone, it's like the only person she could trust was Noah.
Suddenly she got a text, her phone dinged and she went to check who sent it. It was...Caleb?
He hardly texts her, only when it's an emergency or 'code red' as he likes to call it.
Millie cautiously opened her phone and went to see what he had said. Her eyes narrowed as she scanned the text on the bright screen.
A puzzled look formed on her face.
New Message From: "Caleb"
Remember that guy you let us meet on the beach?
Yeah why?
I think me and Gaten know him...
Millie's eyes widened as she looked over the text, over and over to see if she was seeing things.
How did Caleb and Gaten know him?
Her fingers tapped as she started to text Caleb back, they talked for awhile and Millie was now concerned as ever as Caleb explained everything, almost having a breakdown in the middle of it.
Finn wasn't just some guy she met on the beach, in fact, his history with Gaten and Caleb was shocking and a sad tale.
Millie took a deep breath, turning off her phone and tossing it to the side.
She needed to find Finn and quick before he got into some trouble, she knew why he acted the way he did now. It all made sense.
But why was he running? More importantly, who was he running from?
All these questions flowed through her mind rapidly.
