Chapter 49: 8-4-2250 210 a.d.d

*Hendrix p.o.v*

No reply after her scream.

Truthfully, I don't know if it is a fault on my end or hers, But I knew I was tired, both mentally and physically. I never realized how draining that form of communication was. Or maybe I just wasn't used to it like malaki.

Something in me told me it was still something Nathan did to me that was making that form of communication too difficult.

I need to reach kii-ea. To get us all out of here. I don't think I can get out of here alone. I shake my head of negative thoughts looming. I can't think like that right now.

briefly I look to the men in my arms. Lex doesn't have long and Malaki is bleeding slightly from both wounds..

"My priority is their safety." I tell myself. Theres nothing to do know but keep moving forward.

Pausing my stride briefly, I unloop marcs arm from one of my own, giving him a second to breath, we have been walking for only 20 minuets now. But as we go on and on, the air around us grows thick with glowing yellow air. It grows more difficult to breath

What happened?

"A nuke happened" I remember lex saying.

My body stiffens and I jump back, pulling marc with me 20 or so feet. I look around and sure enough to really see it now.

Were in radiation.

Marc looks nauseous from the sudden movement. Can he even puke?

"Marc." I say worried, he turns to me, his human skin now pale.

"We need to turn back." I say with sad eyes. We wouldn't make it 5 minuets in radiation.

"Hendrix....no" He points up, but his arm falls quickly.

*cough*

"theres a cave.. Lake. up here." Marc points again, stabilizing one arm with the other. He points west of us. Through the tree line I can see burnt forest and nothing else.

"2 1/2 miles" Marc coughs out. (A/N 4 km roughly)

"Run it. Hold your breath" Mar continuies.

*cough cough*

"and..run." Marc scowls, now leaning over to hold his knees. His whole body shaking.

"Leave me.....here.. ill make it eventually" He slumps forward. That's a lie. He wont make it long.

*cough*

"take them... GO!" Marc tugs his arm away from me and pushes me lightly.

My eyes find his and I can see he doesn't really want to do this.

But I have to leave him for Malaki. I have to leave malakis brother to save him. I cant carry him too..

Lex starts to cough, and I realize a fault in this plan. I don't know how im going to get them there if theyre breathing it I and unable to hold their breath.
