"YOUR WHAT!?" Poppie screeched so that the entire school could hear. She went from slouching against one of the lockers to jolting up with her mouth hung wide open. Her blue eyes widened and her red hair fell around her shoulders. I looked around and the girls that were giggling and playing with their fake strands of blonde hair were no longer doing that, they were staring at us like we had interrupted their precious flirting time with one of the football players.

"I know it's horrible, I don't want to leave" I looked back at her with my troubled green eyes, making sure not to make it obvious of what we were talking about.

Usually she hugs me when I look at her with my sad eyes but I think she was in such shock that it flew right over her head, I didn't blame her though because that's how I would have reacted if she told me she was moving.

After a few seconds the girls turned away from us, flicking their strands of hair over their shoulder and continued their flirting with the troubled football player but Jonah had other intentions, he looked bored and tired listening to the girls, he yawned a couple times and kept looking at his phone tapping away, then looking back up smiling and nodding like he was interested every time the girls asked him a question. Every couple seconds he would peek over at me and when he noticed I was looking at him he would nervously smile at me.

"Earth to Alice!" Poppie waved her hand in front of my face, at first I thought she was going to hit me, until I crashed back down to earth and realised her hand wasn't that close to my face at all.

"When? Where? Why?" She questioned coming in closer towards me.

"What?" I asked her stepping back tearing my eyes off Jonah. What was that? I felt this strange feeling like I wanted to drop everything and start walking towards him to save him from the girls that surrounded him.

"I said, when are you moving? Where are you moving to? And why are you leaving me here and why do you have to go?" she said side stepping so that I couldn't see Jonah anymore.

She hit me with loads more questions but I honestly would not be able to tell her why we had to move because I didn't know myself, that was the only question I dared to ask my mum yesterday after I took her mind of the whole situation.

When I woke this morning and came down the stairs, she was already gone, her mug had coffee steins around the rim and at the bottom where there was still a small amount left. I picked the mug up and placed it into the sink. She must of woke up during the night or woke up early because she had left out her laptop, I debated whether to open the lid or just leave it, in the end I lifted the lid and powered it on thinking I wouldn't have no trouble but there was a password and I didn't know it, I didn't want to guess because she would find out. I pressed the off button and put the lid back down.

I grabbed the red juicy looking apple that was sitting in the fruit bowl on top of all the other fruit. I went to open the fridge and there was a sticky note on the door saying that she was going to be coming home late tonight as she has a lot of work to do back at the office.

I took another look over at Jonah and one of the girls were trying to wrap her arms around his biceps, I could see that he was struggling to get her off of him. He looked over at me and pleaded me to come and rescue him, I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"Hang on a sec pop" I excused myself and wandered over to where he was standing with the girls at his locker. As I got closer to him, you could see that he had gel in his hair to help his hair spike up, his brown eyes glistening with hope, his tall frame leaning against the locker, as I got even more closer I could see he had muscles, not too big and not small either. I stopped in front of the group and I realised Jonah was good looking up close, I almost blushed when he smiled at me.

"Excuse me, Jonah?" I said with my head held high. The girls turned and I swear one of them growled at me. It took a lot to hold in the laugh that was trying to escape.

"Yes, can I help you?" he spoke trying to make himself look cool in front of the girls.

"There is a guy outside keying your car" I spoke, as the girls spun around to see his reaction I winked at him, he got the idea of what I was implying and his face done a 160 turning from cool and collected to anger and rage. The girls looked back at me and he slightly nodded at me, before trying to storm off. Before one of the girls could speak to me I walked off back towards where I left Poppie standing with a confused look plastered on her face.

"What was that? What did you say to him? She questioned folding her arms.

Just before I could answer her the bell rang and made the students that were surrounding us, grabbing what they needed, slamming their lookers and heading towards their designated classes.

"Come on, that's the bell. We need to get to class before we are late" I tugged on to her arm to get her moving because I know she would have just stood there.

"Wait! Are you not going to tell me all of this amazing gossip?" she looked at me with her begging eyes as we dodge through the kids in the hallway.

"I'll tell you later when we get to yours, I don't want people knowing about this yet."

"Okay" was all she said before pushing the door open for our lesson.

I didn't want nobody to know anything, not yet anyways and that was the truth, I just hoped that when I tell Poppie she won't tell anyone, I especially didn't want it to get around to Dylan not just yet anyways.

I sat down in the seat next to the window and watched as it started spitting outside. I opened my book and one of the guys that were sitting near me, tapped my desk. I looked up and he handed me a note, I looked at him confused, he shrugged his shoulders and pointed to where it came from.

I looked over and sat in his chair was Jonah smiling. I looked down and opened the note.

Thank you for that Alice. - Jonah

It surprised me that he knew who I was. I looked over to him and nodded giving him a slight smirk. After half an hour I received another note but not from Jonah, I didn't know who it was from but it seemed petty.

Stay away from him.

I snickered to myself and rolled my eyes. He was only saying thank you and now im getting grilled from the Barbie's. I managed to survive the rest of the day without any worry, not like I was worried anyways. Me and Poppie sat on the sidewalk and waited for her mum as neither of us had our driving licenses. I had one lesson tomorrow with my driving instructor. He said that I was nearly ready to do my tests, so it won't be long until I can drive.

It turned past four and Poppie's mum was pulling into the schools parking space, we both climbed into the back seat letting the music burst out of the car. We both laughed as we closed the doors.

"Its stir-fry for dinner girl's" Mrs Birchards said as she looked at us through the rear-view mirror. Mine and Poppie's eyes widened "okay" we both said with massive smiles on our faces. I loved her mum's stir-fry's, well I loved everything she cooked because I hardly ever got a home cooked meal unless I cooked myself.

We got to Poppie's and snatched a bottle of water from the fridge and slipped upstairs whilst her mum was preparing dinner. Before we got to Poppies room, a deep husky voice spoke.

"Hey Alice, long time no see."
