Both of our chests heaving, trying to regain control of our breathing. I hug him back, just from the fear that built up. People stare at us awkwardly, giving us odd looks as if we were crazy. All I care about is catching my breath and being away from Ravi as far as possible. He probably would've killed us right then and there. We walk up to concierge at the desk slowly, intrigued by the decor. A huge glass chandelier hangs from the ceiling and the marble tiles we walk on glisten from the sparkling lights. There are pillars on each side of some fancy couches by an oversized water fountain.
"We would like any room available just for tonight please." Ken leans on the counter pulling out wads of cash.
"I'm sorry, sir. We only accept reservations." The concierge speaks professionally with a well mannered voice.
"Please, we are desperate." Ken lowers his voice and leans forward. "How about some pocket money for yourself? Hm?" He slips the man a one hundred dollar bill to coax him with a bribe. I stomp on Ken's foot for doing such a thing, but he didn't seem bothered by it. The man smiles and takes it inconspicuously. I scoff at this ridiculousness, I should really be back at Leo's. He will be wondering where I am.
"The bellhop will show you to your room. Here is the key, enjoy your stay." He bows softly and accompanies whomever is next in line.
Ken smiles and thanks him, grabbing my hand and takes me alongside him. "I cannot believe you!" I mutter irritably.
"What?" He questions, dumbfounded.
"What do you mean what? You know exactly what! Everything!!" My tone raises accidentally, keeping up with his pace.
"We'll talk in the room, okay?" He pleads quietly, his face flushing.
"Ugh!" I groan. We make it to our room and the bellhop makes his way back to the lobby and Ken opens the door, smiling and the interior, but also locking the door behind him.
I am quite astonished at how nice the room is, a king sized bed, a mini kitchen, a flat screen TV, a huge bathroom even with a jacuzzi. "Wow." Ken exclaims, but I know neither of us are here to enjoy any of the amenities. I smile as I look around as well, but then I see Ken and my smile immediately disappears. I storm up to him and my hand forcefully collides against his cheek. A red mark instantly appears and my stress goes down a notch, but not entirely.
"Okay, I deserve that." Ken admits softly with a nod.
"How many people have you killed?" I pry, looking him straight in the eyes unwillingly.
"Jiyeon." He sighs depressingly.
"How many?" I scream at him, swatting his arm in anger.
"I don't know!" He fires back at me in complete and utter distraught.
"Explain yourself." I sit down on the edge of the bed with my arms folded.
"Jiyeon, I'm just trying to help you, okay? I don't want you hurt and I just wanted to apologize. I care about you." He states sincerely.
"Then you should've told me from the beginning who you really were!" I shout, just getting heated. A tear glides down my cheek, which Ken takes the pad of his thumb to wipe away the single tear softly.
"How would I of known if you were going to go to the cops or not? Look, I am still the same Ken I was before you knew my secret. I'm not even in the mafia anymore, you see? Hakyeon is dead, everything is okay. Besides Ravi, but I can be a better person again." He defends himself.
I sigh under my breath. "I still ended up in danger and found out the hard way about you. I lost my brother because of them. My best friend even kept it a secret from me because of her stupid boyfriend. And now he wants to kill me? I didn't even do anything!"
