I let out a screeching shrill cry. My body feels heavy after hearing the gut-wrenching news. I cover my ears, close my eyes and crouch down, unable to stop screaming. All of the nightmares I went through every night seem so surreal right now. The fury that dwells within me at this very moment is too much to bear.
"What? No! Jiyeon, I didn't, I swear! That was Hyuk!" Ken shouts in his own defense with a retort, his eyes wide. He is just itching and begging to run over to me, but he knows the guards will go after him. "Hongbin has had history here and he couldn't live up to in the end, so Hakyeon finally sent Hyuk after him and Hyuk shot him point blank! I had nothing to do with it!"
Hakyeon laughs. "You're going to believe him? He's lied to you this entire time, Jiyeon. He never told you who he really was!" He teases with a smirk, his eyes playing deceiving tricks.
The pain of this just makes me want to throw up, I can't handle it. I cradle on my knees, covering my head, trying to wake up from this nightmare. I don't believe Hongbin had anything to do with the mafia. He wasn't like that.
"Stop it, Hakyeon! Look what you are doing to her!" Kijun pleads sincerely, her face distorted with agony.
"Don't you dare talk to my father like that!" Ravi turns around and scolds her, but strokes her hair, trying to manipulate her with his charm.
"F-father? So Ravi is apart of the Mafia too and you knew the whole time, Kijun? Why didn't you say anything?" I scream, paralyzed on the ground.
"You've got to understand, Jiyeon. I'm not allowed to tell anybody no matter what. Even if I care for them, they are all about keeping it secret." She looks down at the floor with tears also in her eyes.
"That's enough talking." Hakyeon states deeply. "Jiyeon. Ken here is only trying to deny the truth because he wants to keep being your little boyfriend, isn't that right?" He continues, turning his glare towards Ken.
"No!" Ken yells in pure fury, the look of death is in his eyes as he pierces his cold gaze at Hakyeon, like he wants to kill him. Ken then turns to me as the tears feel like they are burning my flesh as they trickle down my cheeks in loads. "Who are you going to believe, beautiful? I love you." His voice turns soft, wishing he could kiss the tears off of my skin that he adores.
"He is right though, Ken. You kept this from me. You never even mentioned anything about a Mafia. Are you two the ones that have been doing all of the killing? Is Hyuk the one that really killed Hongbin? That makes you a murderer, Ken! I went through an insane amount of stress trying to find out about these killings when the killer was right next to me the entire time!" My heart pulsates in heavy beats that brings striking pain to my chest, gasping for little air each time I breathe.
"Jiyeon, I didn't want to, I had to! You have to believe me." Ken says in a begging tone, his eyes dropping a single tear.
"I can't understand! Why would anybody do such a horrible thing? Why?" I cry aloud, white-faced with rage, completely overwhelmed with an unwanted amount of emotions.
"It's kill or be killed, kid!" Hakyeon erupts with laughter, looking at me like I'm some measly little bug. Suddenly, a ringtone fills the room, captivating everybody's attention. I recognize the familiar song and my phone lights up as its atop Hakyeon's desk. My eyes widen, wishing there was a way for me to get to it.
Hakyeon leans forward, picking up the phone in his hand and his eyes narrow at it "hm. Who is this Leo guy?" He chuckles, letting it ring, a hostile look in his eyes.
"Leo." I gasp under my breath, urgently running up to the desk weakly, reaching out for it. But, instinctively Hakyeon leans away and Sungyeol pushes me backwards onto the ground. I whimper as I land, getting a small patch of carpet burn on my boney elbow. I wince as I rub it, just laying there in my puddle of tears. I want this all to be over. I want answers. I just want this not to be actually happening. I close my eyes lightly, trying to escape from reality.
