A normal day in the pridelands (Maybe)

The sun was rising and was shining proudly on the pridelands. In the main lair of pride rock, the leader of the lion guard, Kion, woke up and yawned. He stood up and stretched. That would be a long day, if he would be the exact same, as the last few days were. And in this time period, the days seemed to repeat themself non-stop. Kion walked outside and watched the rising sun. Beneath him, zebras and elephants were on their way to the waterholes, to get an early drink. The dry season was still holding on and the animals tried to drink as much water as possible, to make it through the day, without having to go to the waterhole again. In the morning, the crocodiles were still sleepy and had to warm themself, before going to hunt. But not all animals will be able, to get to the water fast enough or they will become thirsty again and have to go back. These unlucky animals or at least a few of them, will end as crocodile food. But that was necessery, to preserve the circle of live.

Kion was looking to the outlands and worry was written all over his face. (Literally. I'm writing, so it is written over his face. Ok, I'll stop now.) He hadn't heard anything regarding Scar, since Jasiri and her clan went into hiding after Scars army attacked them. He was worried. Of course Scar was up to something, but what was it? Kion would have loved, to sneek to the volcano and find it out, but with Mzingo and his parlament controlling the air, that was not possible. They would have spotted him long before he would even get near the volcano. Kinyonga, the chameleon would have been able to, but she had disappiered since last time and the guard couldn't find her.

Kion heard someone behind him and a few moments later, Kiara stood next to him. She looked at him. She was worried too, but about him. He had bags under his eyes and his eyes were almost closed. "Are you alright?", she asked him softly and he turned, to face her. "I'm fine. I just didn't get a lot of sleep tonight." "You do remember, that Dad offered you, that a few of the lionesses could patrol the pridelands for one or a few days, right?" Kion sighed. "Yes, I do remember that, but what if Scar finds out about that and thinks, that the guard is exhausted. He would start a big attack." "But you wouldn't be exhausted and could defeat him.", Kiara said, but it sounded more like a question, than a statement.

"I hope so.", Kion said, then looked at the sun. "It's time for patrol now. I need to go. Be careful.", he said and sprinted to the lion guard lair. "Of course, but the same goes for you.", Kiara answered, before he was out of hearing range. "Don't worry Kiara.", Kion thought. "I'm always careful." As soon as he thought that, he tripped and stumbeld down the rest of pride rock. "Hevi Kabisa, that was a fall. At least I didn't say it out loud.", Kion thought, when he stood up again. Luckily he wasn't hurt. "So much for beeing careful.", Kiara yelled down to him laughing. Kion froze. "Did I say that loud?", he asked his sister, who was still at the lair entrance. "Yes you did.", she said, now giggling. "What ever. I need to go now.", Kion said slightly annoyed and took off running to the lair. He was late anyway.

When he arrived, he was the first one to be there. "He, I guess the other ones are late as well.", he said out loud and tried to decide, if he should wait for them here or if he should start the patrol and gather them on the way. Before he could make a decision, he got pounced on and pinned to the ground. Standing on top of him was Fuli, grinning at him. "I am never late.", Fuli told him. "Don't forget that." "I'll try not to.", Kion said. "But could you please get off of me?" Fuli did so and said: "The other ones are not here yet. I think we should start patrol and gather them on the way." "I thought so too.", Kion replied and they started their typical patrol through the pridelands. They went to the waterhole first, to get a drink and to get Beshte, who just woke up, when they arrived. "Oh guys, I'm so sorry, that I oversleept." "No problem Beshte. You are not the only one.", Kion told him and Beshte calmed down. "Who, do you think, will be the next to arrive?", Beshte asked. "Ono, obviously. He can see where we are and fly there. And I think we will have to wake Bunga up."

"Well, we will pass the Hakuna Matata falls. We can pick him up there.", Beshte said. "Well, well, what do I see here?", suddenly a voice said from above and Kion, Fuli and Beshte looked up, to see Zazu. (Who expected it to be Janja or another bad guy?) "Oh, good morning Zazu. Are you doing your morning report?" "Exactly. And as I see, the lion guard is not only late, but also incomplete. That surely will be one of the more important things, that I will mention to the king." "Yeah.", Kion said. "After all, this is your job." "Indeed. If you would excuse me, I have to finish my morning report. I will propably see you later again." With this words said, Zazu flew off, to see if anything else would be worth of reporting to King Simba.

Kion and Fuli finished drinking and Beshte was ready to go, so they left, to continue the patrol and the only thing they had to do, was moving a rock for one meter, because it disturbed Thurston, the Zebra leader. (I will use the measurement systems I'm familiar with, so no comments on that please.) They meet Matembo and had a short talk with her and the other elephants. Meanwhile, Ono finally woke up and found them. He looked out for Bunga, but didn't see him, which propably meant, that he was still asleep.

"I'm kind of surprised, that non of the outlanders have attacked yet.", Kion told the rest of the guard, after they had finished their talk with Matembo. "Maybe they are tired as well.", Beshte said, before yawning loudly. Ono had another idea, why they weren't attacking. "Or maybe they had enough of our beatings and decided not to come for today." "That doesn't sound very likely.", Fuli replied. She seemed to be the only one, that wasn't tired or at least you couldn't see it. She didn't yawn once, she was walking ahead of the others, her eyes had no bags under them and she seemed to be very energetic. But that's propably, because she's a cheetah. They are sprinters, ready to run at all time. They have to, because of the other animals, that could attack them. Fuli is a little bit hyperactive.

"Hapana, looks like we talked to soon. Jackals are stalking the antilopes near the Hakuna Matata falls.", Ono said, after he searched the area with his eyes. "We must save the antilopes. Till the pridelands end..." "lion guard defend." (This one phrase is like one of the most annoying things of the entire series.)

Ha, my first chapter is released. I'm very surprised, that it happened so early. I knew, that I would eventually write this story, but it wasn't until like two days, that I randomly decided, to do it now. Why do I write it in English? I just think, that I'm good enough in this language, to do it and a lot more people understand English than German (I'm from Switzerland.). I got to know a few people, that write lion guard fan fictions and I had some great conversations with them. And also in the German departement of the lion guard, doesn't seem to be much interest. I will write it in German eventually, but first in English. I will also write my German Percy Jackson Fan-Fictions in English, but that will have to wait and that's another subject.

I also want to thank a certain Wattpad writer   JDTaylorWriterFanFic

JDTaylorWriterFanFic has one of the best, if not the best, lion guard fan-fiction and his work isnpired me, to do this story. So thank you for that. There will be a few scenes, that will be similar to some, who are in his main story, but I will make sure, that my story won't be to similar to his.

I will propably not update this story very often, because I have to work and I'm writing other stories as well. There is my own book, that I write right now, that has priority. After that one is finished, I will propably write two others of my own books at the same time. Then there is the sequel to my Percy Jackson story, that I'm also working on right now. And writing is not easy. It's hard work. Very hard work. I will try to update frequently, but don't be to surprised, when there won't be an update for a month, but I will try to avoid that. My English surely isn't the best and spelling errors can happen. Please tell me, when you find writing errors and I will try to get the time, to correct them.

I don't want this to be a single chapter for a longer time, so I will write a few more chapters.

So, I think I said everything, that I had to say for the moment. Until next time.
