"I'm at the door." Aaliyah spoke into the phone.
"Alright here I come." Dave jogged to the door, opening it wide enough so Aaliyah to walk through.
He was nervous about how today was going to go. His vibe was ultimately making her feel like it was her first time over his house all over again.
"So what you have to talk to me about?" Aaliyah sat on the couch awaiting his response.
After getting Savannah settled in, Aaliyah opted on calling Dave one more time.
Maybe he's just busy. She thought to herself. She had just got used to being around him and now it seemed like he didn't want her around anymore.
To her dismay, Dave answered the phone after a few rings.
"Hello?" Aaliyah spoke into the phone.
"Hey... wassup?" Dave asked nervously. He still wasn't sure wether or not he wanted to tell her about his little encounter with Jai. Hell, they weren't together so did he really need to tell her.
"Why have you been dodging my calls?" She asked as she looked up to see Nique looking at her with her brow raised. She smiled and shook her head now going into a quieter room to get more privacy. Aaliyah didn't even think twice about privacy since she didn't think he would pick up.
"I haven't I've just been... y'know, busy." He said trying to convince himself more than her.
"Oh."
The line was quiet for a minute as they only heard each other's quiet breathing. Aaliyah was honestly so confused. Usually when they were on the phone, they would talk nonstop. Now it was just awkward.
Sighing, Aaliyah went to say something only for Dave to speak at the same time. They both laughed at themselves.
"You go first." Aaliyah spoke.
"Umm." Dave scratched his head trying to see how he could put it in the best words "I need to tell you something but I'd rather it be in person." He said, hoping she wouldn't ask questions about it.
"Just tell me."
"It will be better in person. Just slide through."
"I'm with my sister right now but I'll let you know when I'm free."
"How about tommorow?" Dave wanted to get what happened with Jai off his conscience as quick as possible. He also missed being in Aaliyah's presence.
"I might be busy. But if not I'll come by."
"Alright I'll call you tomorrow."
"Uh." Dave scratched at his beard trying his best to break it down easily. "I'm telling you this because I want something with you and I don't want to start it with lies."
Aaliyah scrunched up her eyebrows utterly confused, trying to figure out exactly what he was getting at.
"I slept with someone."
Aaliyah looked over at him and busted out laughing. She wasn't angry because they both were grown. Yes she wished it never happened but at the end of the day, they weren't in a relationship.
"That's why you were avoiding me?"
"Something like that." Dave felt like she was playing mind games. How was she so laid back after he just told her something like that? Before she came he honestly thought their conversation was going to end with her stabbing him.
