Aaliyah POV
I sat on my bed as I decided wether or not I wanted to go see Destiny since today was visitation day.
I wanna go see her but at the same time I'm undecided. It's like every time I think of her I think of her being the cause of our best friend's death and it kills me.
Sierra would be here right now,
breathing,
smiling,
living.
But all that was taken away because of one stupid mistake.
But I have to face her. I can't just stay locked in my room away from everyone.
Everyone's been calling and texting me like crazy to give their condolences but it's too much right now. I appreciate it but I just wish if everyone would let me heal first. Not to mention, Dave was blowing my phone up. I know he's worried about me, but again, I just wanna be left alone.
As I was drowned in my thoughts, I heard a knock on my door.
"Aaliyah open the door." My mom called out.
Even though I didn't want to, I still had to be respectful.
"Hey mom." I said as I delivered a weak smile.
"Are you going to see Destiny this time?" She questioned me.
"I don't know yet."
"I keep telling you if you hold in all that pain it's going to end badly. Your going to have to face her one day." She lectured.
She always turned something into a lesson wether it was something big or small. Although, I appreciated her trying to give tips, at the moment all I needed was some alone time.
"I'm just not sure if today's the day though."
"And why not?" She asked with a frown on her face.
"Because... I just-" I started as tears dripped down my cheeks.
Ultimately, this was still a fresh subject and I didn't want to discuss it anymore.
She let out a huff and slammed my door.
As soon as she left I broke down in tears once again. It seems like I can never talk to her about anything because she's really judge mental.
"Leave yo phone in the car." Eric reminded me.
When I told him that I decided on going to see Destiny he insisted that he was coming with me. At first I was skeptical about it, but I don't think I would be up for driving after the emotional wreck I'm about to be in.
"I know. You don't have to keep telling me." I said with a forced laughed.
"Aight come on." He said as he placed his arm over my shoulders while we entered the building.
Finally making it to through security and down the long halls, I sat down in front of the glass screen that with held Destiny.
With my shaky hand, I picked up the phone and let out a deep breath.
"You didn't have to come see me." Destiny said with a hoarse voice.
Finally looking up from my hands, I noticed her large bags, swollen eyes which was probably from crying, and pale skin.
She looked horrible.
"I-I um... had to see you." I said so quietly it came out as a whisper.
"I know you don't forgive me. Hell I don't even forgive myself." She said, letting out a chuckle.
"I don't. But I really want to be able to, but I just can't right now. Every time I close my eyes my mind wanders to what happened that night."
"I don't want you to come see me anymore." Destiny harshly said.
"Why not?"
"Do you not hear yourself? Your so selfish! You should have stayed in the car but instead you wanted to cause a big scene. Maybe Sierra wouldn't be dead and I wouldn't be locked up!" Destiny gritted. "Take me back! I'm done here."
The guard snatched her up and took her back to what I'm guessing her cell.
I was stuck. I sat in my seat while tears continuously rolled down my face.
I knew it was time for me to leave
but I couldn't get up.
