"How are we going to make it back to Atlantis?", I asked, "I mean, we do have to fly nonstop for twelve hours, Blaze can handle it, but can you? You did say you need to stop every two hours, or so, to rest up and eat."
"Sarah, he only needed to do that while he was learning to use them and when his wings were still growing, but she is right, James, how are we going to make it? Even now you can only fly for about six hours straight." Blaze answered.
"I know, but I have to try, and its why I am packing extra food into my pack, this way I can eat while flying." James said.
"No, that won't work either James, the more weight you carry, the quicker you'll need to stop." Blaze said.
"Then the two of you should carry my pack and just hand me the food when I need it." James formulated.
"Well, that could work couldn't it, Blaze?" I asked.
"Yes, that will work, just don't fly too far off, ok, James?" Blaze responded.
"Now, when do I ever do that?" James asked, rhetorically. With that I climbed on Blaze's back, and took James's pack, and spurred Blaze to fly. James took off shortly after us, and stayed right behind us for the first hour to make sure nobody was following.
"Hey, I know it's a little difficult to return here after so long and after what happened here but we'll be ok, they'll let us in and help us out for a while, and if the citizens don't, Tytharius will." I said to James's downcast look.
"That's not what I'm worried about, I'm worried about something much more powerful, I saw it just now in a vision of my own I would suppose. You need to be worried, too, although, not yet." James said.
I had no idea what that meant but James refused to say anything further, so I decided to let it go, for now. We flew on for a couple more hours, James not speaking since his comment earlier, when he flew slightly closer, seemingly listening for something.
"What are you trying to listen for?" I asked.
"Huh? Oh, nothing. Can you hand me something to eat? I'm starting to feel weaker." James responded.
"Yeah, sure, but I still want to know what you saw in your vision that we should be worried about." I said.
"And like I said before, it s unrelated to our current situation, so it is unneeded information, for now. I may tell you when we are safe again, but that time is not right now." James said.
"Alright, I suppose so, but at least tell me when we land in Atlantis. Ok?" I asked.
"No, I mean when everything calms down again and there is no one hunting us down or wanting us dead." James responded.
"What!? But that may never happen! I might as well just try to find out on my own!" I said, shocked.
"That's actually probably a better idea, especially since you will definitely find out in like 2 weeks." James said.
"What, really?" I asked.
"Yeah, the vision will show itself to you in 2 weeks, and I will be right there to help you cope." James said.
The flight continued for another 9 hours, on which James still wouldn't tell me what was going to happen, although he helped me understand when he told me what he did, I didn't like him telling me that I had to wait, though. We emptied the pack of food by the last hour of the flight and James had to get on Blaze's back for the last twenty minutes, and he was out in mere seconds. Blaze and I talked, small-talk, for the rest of the flight and then we set down on the small island that sat directly above Atlantis's town square. I, then, drew the symbol that would teleport us down to the city. A glaring light filled the night sky, and suddenly we were standing/laying in Atlantis Town Square.
"What makes you think that you can come back here after all of the trouble you caused us?" The man who was, presumably, the mayor said.
"Well, we assumed since you were a caring and caring people that you would take us in, especially since we helped rid you of that tyrant of a king, Dakota, and we have an injured man here. All we need to do is stay until our dragons hatch and become full grown. So, please let us stay." I said.
"Fine I suppose, we will let you stay, on one condition, you must teach us how to use magic and other weapons to help defend ourselves against the likes of Dakota." The mayor said.
"We can teach you magic and how to use bows and swords as well as enchanting, but defeating Dakota is something you have to leave up to us, only James has the power defeat him." I said.
"Really? How is that possible? I thought everybody had the same magical abilities, well those who possessed magic, anyways, so, why are his different?" The mayor asked.
"He is one of the few magicians whose powers overdeveloped in his time training and he is the one in all of the prophecies," I looked over at his unconscious body, "even if he doesn't know it."
The mayor showed us to the house that we would be staying in, it even had a stable attached to allow Blaze to sleep comfortably. The mayor carried James upstairs to put him in the bed, then the mayor said goodnight to the two of us. Once he left, James stirred.
"Good morning, how long was I out?" He asked.
"About an hour and a half." I answered.
"Really? well, we better go to sleep big day tomorrow, all that training and stuff." James said, grinning from ear to ear.
"You jerk! you made me do all that diplomacy by myself?!" I said, playfully.
"Yes and you did amazing." James said, planting a kiss firmly on my cheek.
As he pulled away, I pulled him in closer and gave him a proper kiss for as long as I could. Then sleepiness took over and we passed out.
