I woke and instantly tried to figure out where I was, I seemed to be in a very dark room but flashes of light were going off what seemed to be quite some distance away and as my hearing returned I would here a pop-pop-pop in accordance to each flash of light. As my hearing strengthend I could tell that the pops were actually gunshots and the light flashes indicated the ignition of the gunpowder within the gun. My eyes slowly adjusted to the dim lighting and I realized that I was actually standing in a large room, that was probably lavishly decorated at one point but now looked like a disaster zone. I walked toward the sounds of gunfire and noticed a foul smell almost like the stench of rotting animal but more pungent. Suddenly I was tackled by a large man who insisted on tearing my throat out, but in order to evade, I slammed my hand on his rib cage and upon feeling the crack of his ribs, promptly blasted him through with a shaft of light. As I did this, however, I noticed that this man had dozens of bite marks all over his body like some cannibal got ahold of him and tore through his body, and the skin on his face hung down like party streamers. All of the skin, attached or not, was mottled and gray, as though the man had spent days in the morgue, dead, and he probably had judging by the smell on him. The man continued to bite at my neck, despite the gaping hole in his chest, I blasted him repeatedly but couldn't seem to get a good hit on him, because hole after hole, he tried to bite me again and again.

"Hey!" A man to my right yelled.

A gunshot rang out and the man on top of me stopped moving.

"Hey, what are you doing here? This area is strictly off-limits, being so close to the zombie infestation border." The man said.

"What? I knew nothing of this infestation, I don't even know where I am." I said.

The man clicked on a flashlight that had been hanging at his belt, and shined it at my face, which instantly made me recoil due to the brightness. When my eyes finally readjusted to the light the man was saluting me and told me that it was an honor to see me in person.

"At ease, but I don't deserve a salute, at least not yet, I haven't defeated Dakota yet, and Leon was killed by my girlfriend not me." I said.

"Sir, this is the year 2018, three years after the war with Leon and his son was ended, why are you saying that it isn't over?" The man asked.

"I don't know, because the last thing I remember doing was passing out in Paris the minute I stepped out of the car, and the only reason I was there was to hunt down and find Dakota and that way I could end the war with him." I responded.

"Looks like he's experiencing memory loss, send for the medics and have them take him to Sarah." The man said to a smaller man on his left.

The room began to fade away right then and suddenly Sarah was standing in front of me in a house that I didn't recognize.

"James, listen to me this is a dream everything you saw here will not have anything to do with your life and path ahead, carry on as you were before and know that everything will be ok in the end." Sarah said.

After Sarah finished, she got up and walked out of the room like I was never there and, in truth, it began to feel as if I were slipping away at that very moment...
