I woke up on a small table, strapped down with, what looked like IV's in both forearms and a yellow liquid pouring into my bloodstream.
"Wha..?" I tried to say noticing that my throat was to dry to actually achieve anything legible.
"Oh, your awake. Stay right there, I'll get you some water and bread. You need the energy. Oh, and sorry for the straps you fought really hard while you were out I couldn't get a chance to help you unless I did strap you down. I'll unstrap you when I get back." The voice sounded manly, and faintly familiar, as if faded by time.
I decided to take a look around and saw Sarah lying on a bed not far from me. She stirred and I longed to go sit by her and watch as she slept. She looked so different while asleep and wished I could preserve that look forever, but knew it was impossible. The man's footsteps shook me out of my reverie. The straps across my chest, belly, and legs fell, loose, and dangled off the sides of the table. "Don't move, those IV's are giving you your energy back and they're also giving you angelic blood which has already improved your condition but you're not well yet. Just a little bit longer and then you can go see your girlfriend. Here eat this and here's some water." The man said.
I took a big gulp of water, ate a whole piece of bread, then asked: "Okay, three things, why do I need angelic blood, why is my energy gone, and finally who are you?" I asked.
"Three answers, you were dying from energy loss so angelic blood was the only thing that could replace the energy you needed before you died, your energy is gone because I had to use it to save you and your girlfriend, I would've just used my energy but I didn't have enough, so I called on your energy and we only barely survived, and finally my identity in relation to this world can't be revealed yet, but my name is Timothy." Timothy said.
"Oh, wow, wait how come you don't need angelic blood like I do?" I asked.
"I don't need it because I already have angelic blood. I was one of the few humans born from an angel and a woman. Once you get back to full health let her rest, trust me you will want to. Oh, and call me Tim if you want." Tim said.
"Oh, well ok, but where's our equipment?" I asked.
"Well, you are perfectly safe here, so I put all of your equipment in the weapons room." Tim said.
"Ok, I was just making sure, we have some very important items." I said.
"I know I recognized the swords right away and the eggs within the stones." Tim said.
"Really? No one else ever has." I said.
"I am a big fan of learning, so I have spent many hours in the hopes of finally fully understanding magic and its origin." Tim said.
"Oh ok, I see, that's how I feel, too, so I get you better than you think I would." I responded.
After that I finished the bread and water, then, fell back asleep. A few hours later, I woke to see Sarah standing next to me the IV's out of my arms and my wings were stretched out just enough for me to see that they were glowing golden.
"What the...?" I asked.
"Angelic blood turns anything that is angelic already, golden." Tim said.
"Oh, ok. That makes sen- Wait, what? You mean my wings had a seraphic alliance?" I asked.
"Yes, that's exactly what I mean, now you two have to leave." Tim said.
"WHAT?!" I yelled, worried.
"Calm down, James, you will always have my help, though it will only be in times of dire need and when the time comes you will learn who I am." Tim said.
