Chapter 3: Sarah

*yawn* "Good morning." I said in a tired voice. 

Hearing no answer I looked over and saw that James had left. 

"He must've gone down to get breakfast." I said to no one in particular. 

I headed downstairs to find a bunch of armed guards standing in the hallway. 

"Hey, what's going on here?" I asked the guards. 

"Oh, ma'am, sorry but we insist you go back to your room and get you're equipment on. You saw what happened to your husband the last time he went out without his equipment on." The guard on the right said. 

"Husband?" I asked. 

"You don't remember? James, he died two years ago, when a zombie turned him and you had to put him down." The guard on the left said. 

"What? How is that possible? James and I just flew here yesterday." I said. 

"Well, you must've been dreaming because that was two years ago." the guards said at the same time. 

"What? No, no.... you're wrong he can't be dead it's not possible!" I yelled, "I never even got a chance to say I love you to him or kiss him. I never got to say goodbye."  

They then led me back to my room and said goodbye, but when I turned to look at them, they glitched, as most gamers would call it, revealing their true selves for just a second, and that is all I needed.

"You two aren't guards, you're Leon's lackeys. This isn't the real world either, is it?" I asked. 

"Nope, little lady this is Leon's simulation, well one of them, anyways." One of Leon's men said, "And you're little boyfriend is about to die in the real world at the hands of Nefario."

I took that moment, while they were gloating, to jump and grab the pistol off of the table and fire two quick shots into the two men. 

"That'll teach you to mess with me, now won't it Leon. Come on out. I know you're watching." I said. 

"Clever girl. I knew my son would always find a smart girl to fall in love with." Leon said, casting away his spell of invisibility. 

"Well your son hates you and is coming for me so I wouldn't try anything." I said. 

"Oh, be reasonable, I don't mean you any harm, all you are for is to be bait. I know he loves you, so I plan to use that against him and make him come rescue you." Leon said. 

"At which point, you will kill him, then me." I finished for him. 

"Oh, about him, yes I will kill him but you, no I will give you to his twin brother, of course. And if you try to run away I will kill you." Leon stated and disappeared with a flick of his wrist. 

I then, saw more guards approaching and grabbed the rest of my weapons and prepared for battle.
