Chapter 2: James

I woke the next morning to an empty bed, and I thought Sarah went down to breakfast. As I walked downstairs I heard running behind me. 

"James! James, wait!" the running person behind me yelled. 

I turned around and he ran right into me. 

"Get off of me." I said. 

"Hey James, been awhile, huh?" he said. 

"Jack! How'd you get here?" I asked. 

"No time to explain, I'm not supposed to be here, Sarah has been kidnapped by Nefario, the genius behind Leon's plans. They are trying to kill you I recommend you leave the city as quickly as possible." Jack said. 

"If you think I'm going to leave without Sarah then you are just as stupid as I always thought you were besides I know who Leon is and my father will never get away with this." I said. 

"Fine. I tried to save you, but you refuse to listen, sorry but I have to do this." Jack said. 

He, then, pulled out a club and tried to knock me out with it. What he didn't know is that I have extra abilities, one of which was having metallic skin that stops me from being knocked out. I punched him in the face after being clubbed and dragged him into a room that he wouldn't instantly be found in. I then went back into Sarah and I's room and put on my armor, belt, and sword, then grabbed Sarah's equipment and put it in a backpack. I, then set out to find the institute to get more help against Nefario. When I exited the hotel, a strange, but rich, man told me to follow him. 

"Come on, the institute is waiting for you and your partner." the man said. 

"Hey, I'll follow you there, but my partner was kidnapped and I need help to get her back. So I expect you guys will help." I said. 

"That will come but you have to complete training before we can let you do that-" The man said. 

"I can't wait that long, she could be dead by then, she was kidnapped by Leon and I'm only going to say this once, I go nowhere without her!" I yelled. 

"Wait, did I hear you right? You did say she was kidnapped by Leon?" the man asked. 

"Well, no actually it was Nefario, one of Leon's henchmen." I said. 

"Well, yes, but since she was kidnapped by Nefario, then she is either already dead or on the brink of it." he said. 

"Then we have to save her now." I said and called for blaze to come to me. 

"You have a Pegasus?!" he asked, shocked as blaze landed. 

"Yep, now get on. By the way, my name's James." I said. 

"I know who you are, everyone at the institute does. My name is John." the man said. 

"Alright Blaze, this man is the only way we can get Sarah back so listen to him at least until we find Sarah and get back to the institute. Okay?" I instructed. 

"Yeah, Yeah, whatever." Blaze said. 

I took off following Blaze's trail of fire. As we were leaving the city I saw a building growing on the horizon. I flew up next to Blaze, well as close as I could without us smacking our wings together. "Hey, is that Nefario's HQ up ahead?!" I yelled over the wind. 

"Yes! Hurry we may not have much time." John yelled. I sped up and landed shortly after my conversation with John. I saw the entrance was barred so no one could get in. 

"How do you suppose we get in?" John asked. 

"Melt the bars obviously." I responded. I raised my hands to shoot the brilliant light from them. 

As the light shot out John jumped and screamed. 

"Shut up, will you we are trying not to get all the guards to attack at once, remember?" I asked. 

I finished melting the bars and opened the doors as quietly as I could. 

"Hang on, John, there may be traps like lasers or trip wires I will take care of both." I whispered. 

I then dropped my body temperature to -90 degrees (which I learned is another one of my abilities) the drop of my body temperature caused a fog to roll off of me and quite a bit of it too. When I did this no lasers appeared but cameras shorted out on the wall a couple feet away from us. 

"Well, I think they know we're here." John said. 

"Maybe, but we aren't taking any chances, so stay quiet and keep low." I said. 

We continued down the hall for quite some time afterward, but finally reached the main chamber. 

"John, stay here." I said. 

"I'm afraid I can't do that." John said as he grabbed my arm and dragged me to the center of the main chamber, towards a huge throne-like chair. 

"Nefario, the other one you requested is here." John said, with a slight waver to his voice. 

"Oh really? Then where is he?" Boomed a very deep voice, presumably belonging to Nefario. 

"This is he." John said. 

"No, that is his degenerate twin brother, James. I told you to get me Dakota, the one who actually knows how to control his abilities." Nefario boomed, angrily. 

"I'm sorry sir, please spare me it won't happen again." John begged. 

"Fine, but leave my presence and never return." Nefario ordered. 

John then ran out of the building so fast that you would think a nuke was being set off in 2 minutes. 

"What have you done with Sarah?!" I asked angrily. 

"Sarah? That cowardly twig of a girl? Ha! I had no use for her, I had her kidnapped just to piss you off and I can see it did, nephew." Nefario said. 

"What, nephew?" I asked, confused. 

"Oh come on, you still haven't figured it out? Your father created this group, how many people just join a rebellion for no reason? No one, that's who. I'm your uncle, Uncle Richard." Nefario said. 

"What? How could you? And I have a twin? Oh and give Sarah back." I said.
