Chapter Seven: Cold 

That night at dinner, Mitsuko had met up with some of the others in the cafeteria. 

"Where'd you get that?"He asked, pointing his chopsticks at her. She chuckled and put a finger on her lips. 

"A magician never reveals her secrets!"She teased. She was sitting with Eri, Tsukito, Takeru, and Ren. The others were all in their own little groups, talking about their clubs. She sighed and moved picking up her chopsticks. She grinned at the bowl of ramen. 

"Oi, Shadow-girl, didn't you already have ramen the other night?"Ren asked. Mitsuko picked some up and ate it. She chewed and swallowed, making yummy noises at it. Takeru shook his head at her. 

"Any time is ramen time,"Mitsuko told them. Tsukito pulled out a notebook. He clicked his pen and wrote that down. 

"Any time is ramen time,"Tsukito repeated. 

"Oi! Bro, don't write that down!"Takeru protested. Mitsuko giggled. 

"Good job, that's an important human lesson, Tsukito,"Mitsuko teased him. Takeru rolled his eyes at her. Mitsuko laughed a little. She pointed her chopsticks at Takeru. "Oi, Takeru. You need to join a club, you know." Takeru sighed. 

"No,"He told them. Mitsuko pouted. She ate some more and chewed. Takeru picked up some of his rice from his bowl, eating it. Mitsuko noticed he was in traditional Japanese wear. She gazed at him silently as everyone was eating. So that's what he wears when he isn't in class. Mitsuko looked back down at her bowl of ramen. She sighed. "You know, I was a little surprised about Zeus bringing another human here." The girls looked up. Eri sighed. 

"Zeus told us he would,"Eri told him. She shrugged. "I guess he wasn't ready when he summoned all of us here. Maybe Chihoshi had to wait?" Mitsuko hummed. She smiled. 

"I'm not sure about that,"She replied. She sighed and lowered her chopsticks. "I was wondering where she'd gone. I haven't seen her since we started talking about clubs earlier." Ren hummed, crossing her arms. She had finished her food. She sat her chopsticks on the tray she had had her food on. 

"I'm curious about that too, I haven't seen her since then,"Ren spoke. All of a sudden, Ume burst into the room, followed by Balder and Thor. The group looked up, seeing them. "Plum-girl. What's up?" 

"Chihoshi Oshiro just fell into the river,"Ume replied. Everyone gaped. Ume looked around. "Where is Kuroyama?" 

"In her room, I think,"Mitsuko answered. She swallowed her bite of ramen. "About Chi-chan, what happened?" 

"I am not quite clear on the details. I spotted her returning to the school with Aidoneus-san, and she explained about it a little bit before heading to her own dorm,"Ume told them. Mitsuko wrinkled her eyebrows. She looked down at her finished bowl of ramen. She sighed and rose up. 

"Hm...well, I'm going to head back to the dorms,"Mitsuko spoke. Takeru rose up. 

"Me too. I'm tired. Coming, Bro?"Takeru asked. Tsukito hummed, looking down at his food. 

"I will later,"He told him. Takeru shrugged. They went and put their dishes up. The two of them left the cafeteria silently, walking down the hall towards the dorm area. Before Takeru turned down his separate hallway, Mitsuko cleared her throat. 

"Takeru...please join a club!"She asked. Takeru turned, blinking at her as she bowed, her hands at her sides. Her braids hung forward in front of her. Takeru sighed, rolling his eyes. 

"I already said no,"Takeru told her. Mitsuko sighed and lifted up. He saw her smile gone from her face. He stiffened. Mitsuko's gray eyes, the ones he always spotted the swirl of darkness in, stared into his cinnamon colored ones. He dropped his arms that had been clasped and resting on the back of his head, looking at her silently.
