as blackbeard released a catastrophic sea quake, vitani clung on desperately to her cloud. she gritted her teeth as the cloud split into two, vitani exentually releasing her grip on the cloud and landing on the shaking ground beside t'kai.

"what is this?!" she yelled.

"he released a seaquake but it's much stronger than whitebeard's." he looked up at the sky. "kendrick!!" he yelled, his voice echoing. "mactoco!!"

t'kai looked up as jimbei and luffy were thrown onto the submarine with kierra who law held in his arms carefully. he sprinted towards them and leapt up, standing infront of kizaru.

"oooh t'ka-"

"that's enough!!" coby's scream interrupted kizaru, vitani turning to stare at the pink-haired boy. "let's end this now!" he stood in front of akainu, his arms extended. "let's not fight anymore! we're wasting people's lives! every single soldier has a family waiting for them to come home!! we accomplished the goal already but we're still chasing the pirates who have no will to fight!" he sobbed. "we could stop but we just want more and more! we're giving up on soldiers who could survive if we treated them right away! on top of that we keep multiplying the victims! soldiers who're gonna go down after this- they're no more than fools!" he yelled.

akainu raised his fist to punch him although before it reached coby, it clashed with a sword. vitani's eyes widened in pure disbelief as she stared forward at shanks.

"shanks..." she whispered, t'kai turning to watch as well. he looked up as a gun clicked on the opposite side of kizaru, ben beckmann raising a gun.

"don't do anything, kizaru." he warned.

"shanks!" t'kai bellowed, leaping down beside vitani. "why are you here?"

"i'm here to end this war." he snapped back, turning away from him. "go." he pointed to the ship in the sky. "before it's too late. we can handle it from here."

vitani approached shanks slowly, staring up at him in curiosity as he cracked a smile.

"you're one of luffy's friends." he hummed, vitani peering at him unsurely. he rested his hand on her head as she winced, shanks smirking.

"thanks for watching over him for me."

"vitani!" t'kai yelled, standing on a cloud. she spared shanks a final glance before leaping up and balancing on the cloud with her father. kendrick looked up in relief as they stepped onto the ship, t'kai kneeling in exhaustion.

"where is kierra?" oboiye murmured, vitani looking down as the submarine submerged.

"she's safe." she murmured. "let's head home."

-week later-

ada rose to the cheerful cry of an opavian from a frontline ship, another woman cheering.

"it's kendrick!" a man yelled, a sudden eery silence falling over the groups. ada stared in confusion as the opavians knelt one by one, the wave reaching her ship as the women knelt as well. she squinted in confusion, a sudden chill falling down her spine. she felt her heart flutter and her stomach churn, followed by a tight feeling in her chest as she stared forward. she sensed him before she caught sight of him, ada staring at t'kai's figure. the ship drifted towards her's before anchoring, kendrick creating a cloud bridge between the two.

"medical team!" he yelled, the opavians helping one another onto the ship. "see the wounded first."

ada couldn't remove her gaze from t'kai's as the opavians flooded around her. he stepped forward, crossing the bridge as kendrick, oboiye and vitani stood on the railing and watched. he stepped in front of ada as she swallowed, t'kai resting his hand against her cheek. she stared up as a tear fell down her cheek, t'kai wiping it away gently with his thumb.

"ada." he murmured. she swallowed at his voice, resting her hand over the back of his.

"amor." she managed the word, stepping forward. she pressed her forehead against his, t'kai rubbing his thumb in a circle along her cheek as she breathed slowly.

"te challa?!" she looked up at him, leaning back and looking over him unsurely.

"i'm okay." he nodded as the looked at her three children, furrowing her brows in confusion.

"where is kierra...?" she whispered, vitani looking down.

"she's alright." oboiye responded. "she's with law at the kuja islands."

"what?!" ada yelled.

"we had no choice." vitani added. "she wouldn't have survived the trip here."

"we saw the newspapers." a woman spoke. "is it true...about-"

"whitebeard and firefist ace are no longer alive." t'kai declared, ada closing her eyes.

"is kierra okay?" ada whispered.

"she will be." skylar nodded beside naomi who also gave a nod.

ada turned to her husband, staring up at him in search for words. "where have you been?"

he hummed, turning to kendrick. "there's something i need to show you."
