A couple hours later, i heard hurried walking but the water was too dark to see anything. None of the lights were on so that didn't help anything but voices could be heard "S-she attacked me! She must be put down!" "Liar! Look at the camera footage, he impaled her under this fence! She's still alive!"
The door closed and opened again a few moments later. Then someone entered the water moving towards me. I tried to escape and get away but the metal only dug deeper into my flesh. I felt a hand run around the wound then "What the hell happened?!"
There hasn't been a time I've wanted to kill a man more than now, Windsor Ball beneath the water begging for mercy as his lungs got closer to bursting "Jake thank god you're here! The siren tried to kill me!" I looked at the silver that disappeared into the pale flesh with crimson dark circles
"Bullshit! That creature had two chances to bite me and still didn't! No way she attacked without reason" I heard a zip and saw a dark shape slide over the water "Jake! Listen to reason dear boy! She'll kill you!" Another dark silhouette advanced through the water towards, I fought everything I could to not harm the man who trusted me.
My guess was that these two were Jake and George who was on guard duty last night, who knows what happened to him? They gave up on removing the full fence from me and retrieved some wire clippers cutting a few away centimetres from the wound.
They pulled me out from under the barricade then one of them disappeared and returned with what seemed like a large black sling, I was laid in it and the contraption started to lift out of the water. People's faces seemed to cringe, then look away. I looked at the wound which looked a lot worse above water, the metal was covered in my blood. I seared in pain gasping for air, the salt water stung like hellfire, as I screamed in pain, everyone covered their ears with their eyes screwed shut
"yep definitely a siren! We need to speed this up!" I grasped at the material that held me mid air as I threw my head back in agony, Lily's eyes showed worry "Thea?" I didn't answer, just tried to fight the pain but it was too much. I ended up passing out from exhaustion. When I awoke, my stomach was bandaged and Jake was in the corner watching something, I hoped it was the camera footage but I couldn't be sure. But what I could see was that he wasn't happy with what he was seeing.

His facial expressions changed every second "Jake, what's up?" He didn't respond "the cameras show Ball attacked first, in fact, our little siren almost didn't attack at all. All she did was protect the mermaid" i grunted and pushed myself into a sitting position or as close as I could get "someone's up" I looked at the two "It's clear he's not a fan" Jake scoffed "what the hell was George thinking?!" I opened my mouth to speak and defend the guard but I didn't actually know what to say.
The doors swung open and Lily was carried in "there's too much blood in the pool, it'll take hours!" I flopped back down staring at the ceiling "then we move them to the open area" I concentrated on moving my stomach around, it hurt but I could do it.
All of a sudden, the doors burst open and my attacker stormed in and tried to knife me, the boys moved in the way "she-she tried to eat me!" I rolled my eyes "you realise they've seen what happened right?" George appeared out of no where pushing him in the pool area and holding the doors closed "go! Take them!"
Jake scooped me up without a second thought and ran down the hall, I gripped on for dear life hoping he wouldn't drop me or fall over "why am I surprised you have a death grip?" I loosened my grip slightly "sorry" he suddenly halted as we came to a much larger pool with other mermaids in all chatting happily, thankfully there was another fence between my section and theirs.
Surprisingly, Jake actually walked to waist height in the water and let me swim out of his arms, I immediately found a cavern at the bottom and hid. I saw lily get put in with the mermaids but she stayed by the fence. I didn't listen to the talking above water and just stayed there.
