tyler found himself parked at the roosevelt coffeehouse. he couldn't get the brunette barista off of his mind the past two days and all he wanted to do was be in her presence. he doesn't know why, but he thinks it might have been her smile that drew him in. he just wants to figure her out.
plus, the hot chocolate was really good and he could write somewhere that wasn't his house for once.
he exited his car and entered the coffee shop. his nose and ears filled with the familiar coffee smell and faint music on a record player. his eyes scanned the not-so-busy coffee shop and his cheeks immediately rose into a smile when he saw the brunette.
she smiled back at him, "hi! what can i get you today?"
he looked at the menu briefly just because it felt like what he should do, "a large hot chocolate please!"
she nodded and tapped the register screen, "sounds great! anything else?"
tyler shook his head, "that should be all for now, thank you!" he turned on his heel to walk away.
"oops, uh, sir!" she called to him which caused him to turn around. "that'll be $2.50," she giggled.
tyler felt his cheeks flush red as he facepalmed, "oh yeah! i guess i need to pay." he chuckled, reaching for his wallet and pulled out a $5 to hand her. "keep the change for my stupidity."
she giggled again, putting the change into the 'tips' jar. "thank you so much, your drink will be right up!"
tyler smiled and backed away from the counter to sit down at a table next to the counter. he brought out his journal and pen as he got comfortable. he sighed as he opened it, feeling anything but inspired to write at all.
"hot chocolate for ya!" haven cheered as she set it down on the table in front of tyler.
he blushed for whatever reason, "thank you." she nodded and walked back to her position behind the counter. he watched her for a few seconds before deciding it was too creepy to do that.
but she was just so beautiful, it was really hard not to stare.
