"you ready to go back to ohio tomorrow morning?" josh asked tyler as the two sat at his kitchen counter, eating cereal.
tyler shrugged his shoulders, "yes and no."
"okay," josh swallowed his bite. "why yes?"
"i'm excited to see haven and be home."
josh nodded, "and why no?"
"because i know my heart is going to break more every time i'm with haven."
"dude," josh patted his shoulder lightly. "you need to tell her how you feel."
"can't," tyler shook his head, spooning a bite into his mouth.
"you can." josh said.
"i'd rather her be my friend than nothing at all. and if i tell her, she'll be nothing at all. so i'm good where i am." he said, swallowing.
"that can't be good for your emotional being though ty," josh frowned.
tyler shrugged, "i'll be alright."
josh could see the sadness in tyler but decided to stop prying. "it's friday night and we're sitting here eating cereal. why are we losers?"
tyler chuckled, "we're not. we're dope and everyone else is a loser!"
the two boys fist bumped each other and smiled.
