it'd been a few hours and it was just about time for haven's lunch with tyler. she was excited to have a break from working and she was excited to be spending that break with her new friend. she thinks he is the sweetest man she's met in a very long time, and definitely the cutest. but she won't let him know she thinks that. she doesn't want to scare off her newly found friend.
"hungry?" tyler said, pulling haven out of her thoughts. she nodded with a smile and glanced at the clock to see it was 12:28pm.
she looked to her coworker, "you good if i head to lunch?"
the blonde nodded, "you taking half an hour or a full hour this time?"
haven glanced at the smiling tyler before her smile widened, "probably a full hour today. text me if you need anything!"
tyler's cheeks already hurt from smiling so much today so he doesn't know how they won't fall off before the end of their lunch. he can't believe he is getting to hangout an entire hour with haven, and that she actually wants to hang out with him.
"off we go!" haven announced, now being on the other side of the counter and next to tyler.
he chuckled, "still not sure where we are going to eat though!"
she giggled as the two started for the door. tyler opened the door for her and she followed him to his car, again he opened the door for her and shut it once she was sitting. he got in the driver's seat and they both buckled up. "this is a really nice car, ty!" haven said.
tyler smiled wide at the nickname and turned his car on, "thank you. do you want pizza?"
she nodded, "i love pizza, so yes."
tyler quickly decided to head to 'OH Pizza and Brew' since it was small and little known. he is still trying to lay low and hope nobody notices him in public, especially not while he's with haven. not before he gets the chance to tell her about his lifestyle.
haven cleared her throat due to the fact that it's too silent so tyler looked over at her, "sorry, want to listen to music?"
she nodded her head, "always!" and she leaned forward to turn on the radio.
tyler immediately regretted his question when the familiar tune of 'stressed out' filled the car. haven quickly changed the station, "overplayed song." she said about it.
tyler chuckled, "do you not like it?"
haven left the stations alone when she was satisfied with a beatles song playing, "no i like it. i guess. it just is always on the radio and it's one of those songs that gets annoying after you've heard it for the 100th time in two days."
tyler laughed as he turned into the pizza place, "i agree with you."
haven smiled and unbuckled, "pizza pizza pizza!!" she chanted as the two got out of his car and entered the small restaurant. the smell of fresh dough and sauce filled their nostrils as they walked up to the counter.
"what can i get you two?" the man in his late 40s asked.
"hm," haven said as she glanced over the toppings menu.
tyler leaned over to her and whispered, "get whatever you want, i'll eat it."
she giggled and nodded, "a medium pizza with mushrooms and extra cheese, please!"
tyler looked at the girl as she rocked on her feet in excitement. she's so goddamn cute, he thought to himself. "and two medium fountain drinks," he added.
the man nodded and punched in the order, then shouting it back to the people making the food. he handed tyler two plastic cups and said, "that'll be $17.76"
